The Tampa Police Department arrested 43-year-old JASON CHRISTOPHER LARSON (pictured).

On the early evening of March 23, 2025, officers responded to the 700 block of W. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard for a report of a fire in the parking lot. Witnesses reported seeing a male, later identified as LARSON, starting the fire in the parking lot.

Officers found a dead dog after putting out the flames. LARSON fled the area before police arrived.

Approximately half an hour later, Tampa Police responded to a call reporting a single car traffic crash on the Courtney Campbell Causeway. Upon arrival, officers found an empty car and LARSON standing on a ledge along the causeway making statements that he had killed a dog.

Police said that after more than two hours, LARSON was taken into protective custody and transported to Orient Road Jail on animal cruelty charges.

Police tell me the dog was a Pug but no additional details were released and the investigation remains active.

I took the liberty of naming the Voiceless Victim Honey for the tribute image. Should his/her given name be made public, I will rectify it accordingly.

Two kittens who were stolen from the Humane Society of Tampa Bay are now back and safe!

On March 8, 2024, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay took their appeal to Facebook asking the community to help.

According to the organization’s post, on March 7, 2024, a young female, and a young male (both pictured), entered the shelter and “brazenly STOLE two innocent underage kittens from the off-limits kitten nursery.”

The post goes on to say that the two individuals “scouted out the two kittens they wanted from outside the room, then snuck in, took them, and shoved them into their backpacks before quickly leaving.”

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay identified the kittens as Marcus and Mitch.

In an update published on March 9, 2024, the organization advised that Marcus and Mitch were returned to the shelter by the Tampa Police Department. With the help of tips from the local community, officers retrieved the stolen furbabies and brought them back safely to the shelter.

Marcus and Mitch were examined and are thankfully healthy and doing well.

Police are continuing to investigate this incident and at this time they are not releasing additional details regarding the suspects or the pending charges.

The Tampa Police Department arrested 44-years-old ANGELA MARIE GIUDICE-BURRIS (pictured).

The arrest is the result of an investigation launched on November 24, 2023, after three newborn puppies were found “barely alive” in a dumpster on 1512 North Clark Street.

Police said the puppies were found zipped up in plastic, Ziploc-style bags and the Good Samaritan who found them immediately rushed the Voiceless Victims to the local Humane Society for emergency care. Sadly, all three furbabies died.

Police said in a press release that surveillance video captured a vehicle that led detectives to GIUDICE-BURRIS.

The evil female was arrested on Thursday, December 21, 2023, and charged with third-degree felony aggravated cruelty to animals.

GIUDICE-BURRIS was released from the Hillsborough County Jail the same day after posting a meager $2,000 bond.

According to police, Hillsborough County Animal Control went to the female’s home where they found and removed two adult dogs.

Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw said: “It's disturbing to see a case of animal abuse in our community. We will not tolerate this kind of behavior and will hold those accountable for their actions.”
