Kittens stolen from the Humane Society of Tampa Bay returned to shelter by Tampa Bay Police

- Florida, USA -

Two kittens who were stolen from the Humane Society of Tampa Bay are now back and safe!

On March 8, 2024, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay took their appeal to Facebook asking the community to help.

According to the organization’s post, on March 7, 2024, a young female, and a young male (both pictured), entered the shelter and “brazenly STOLE two innocent underage kittens from the off-limits kitten nursery.”

The post goes on to say that the two individuals “scouted out the two kittens they wanted from outside the room, then snuck in, took them, and shoved them into their backpacks before quickly leaving.”

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay identified the kittens as Marcus and Mitch.

In an update published on March 9, 2024, the organization advised that Marcus and Mitch were returned to the shelter by the Tampa Police Department. With the help of tips from the local community, officers retrieved the stolen furbabies and brought them back safely to the shelter.

Marcus and Mitch were examined and are thankfully healthy and doing well.

Police are continuing to investigate this incident and at this time they are not releasing additional details regarding the suspects or the pending charges.
