Court documents obtained by Voice For Us state that on the morning of Monday, July 10, 2023, 22-years-old THOMAS WILLIAM MARTEL (pictured) walked into the 014 District Police Station with his attorney, Brandon E. Brown to turn himself in for incidents related to the death of multiple kittens.

MARTEL, a roofer, is accused of torturing and killing several kittens since May 2023, and replacing every deceased cat with a new one who looked like the previous one, so that his mother would not get suspicious.

The Voiceless Victims were purchased from Craigslist and each new one was named Shelly. All the furvictims were Tabby cats with a distinctive M-shaped marking on their tiny foreheads and stripes on their faces and backs.

The kittens were murdered in various ways, including but not limited to drowning, being placed in a microwave, mutilation with a sharp object, and squeezing. MARTEL murdered the kittens at his home in the 1500 block of North Wicker Park Avenue.

MARTEL’s girlfriend reported him to police after she received a video showing MARTEL throwing a pillowcase into Lake Michigan with a kitten inside.

The girlfriend told police that on May 26, 2023, MARTEL invited her to his home to see his new cats, an adult male named Reggie, and a kitten whom he named Shelly. On June 3, 2023, while under the influence of narcotics, MARTEL drowned the new kitten in a tub of water. He then pulled the unresponsive furbaby out and proceeded to give him/her CPR by using his thumb to perform chest compressions. The following day, MARTEL said the kitten needed more chest compressions, so he took the furbaby to the bathroom only to come back out to say Shelly was dead.

According to the girlfriend’s statement, MARTEL threw the deceased kitten down his trash chute and then went back on Craigslist and bought another Tabby, whom he named Shelly.

On June 5, 2023, MARTEL told his girlfriend he wanted to teach the new kitten how to swim, so he took the furbaby into the bathroom. A few hours later, MARTEL took from the pantry a bag that had inside what appeared to be a kitten. MARTEL then told his girlfriend the body of the latest kitten was inside the bag before tossing him/her down the trash chute.

The girlfriend said on June 18, 2023, she went through MARTEL’s phone and found pictures and videos of him torturing the last cat and one of the videos showed the fourth Shelly while she was still alive with the caption “just before I murdered her.

On June 23, 2023, MARTEL told his girlfriend he had microwaved three kittens and showed her the bag in his pantry. That evening she alerted the authorities.

The girlfriend told police that MARTEL told her he “enjoyed killing cats and he had been like that since he was eight years old.

Prosecutors have charged this sick and filthy murderer with two felony counts of animal torture and four felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.

On Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at MARTEL’s bond hearing, Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Sarah Dale-Schmidt laid out the graphic and horrific details to Cook County Circuit judge Kelly McCarthy. To that, judge McCrthy returned: “We’re seeing a pattern of going back again and again. Killing an animal, going out and get a replacement. Kill that one, get a replacement. Kill that one, get a replacement. And, unfortunately, this was allowed to continue for a sustained period of time and numerous animals lost their lives.”

And yet, judge McCarthy released the murderer after posting $75,000 bond. One of the conditions is that MARTER is required to wear an electronic monitor and may not have any contact with animals.

MARTEL is scheduled to appear back in court on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.

MARTEL’s attorney told the court that his client was planning to start a new mental health treatment. In his arrestee questionnaire, MARTEL checked “yes” for serious mental health problems and stated, “He takes medication for mental condition.”

As I was reviewing MARTEL’s court documents I noticed that his bond papers were signed by his father. I wonder how it is possible that this filth acted undisturbed while he continued to murder innocent kittens!

The Tampa Police Department arrested 43-year-old JASON CHRISTOPHER LARSON (pictured).

On the early evening of March 23, 2025, officers responded to the 700 block of W. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard for a report of a fire in the parking lot. Witnesses reported seeing a male, later identified as LARSON, starting the fire in the parking lot.

Officers found a dead dog after putting out the flames. LARSON fled the area before police arrived.

Approximately half an hour later, Tampa Police responded to a call reporting a single car traffic crash on the Courtney Campbell Causeway. Upon arrival, officers found an empty car and LARSON standing on a ledge along the causeway making statements that he had killed a dog.

Police said that after more than two hours, LARSON was taken into protective custody and transported to Orient Road Jail on animal cruelty charges.

Police tell me the dog was a Pug but no additional details were released and the investigation remains active.

I took the liberty of naming the Voiceless Victim Honey for the tribute image. Should his/her given name be made public, I will rectify it accordingly.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department arrested 20-year-old CONNOR DE'LEON HOWARD (pictured).

According to the affidavit obtained by Voice For Us, on March 13, 2025, security camera footage at 1114 Clement Avenue captured HOWARD savagely and repeatedly attacking his dog.

Officer Tomasino with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department became aware of the incident after the outrageous video circulated on social media so he began investigating the case. Authorities were provided video of the incident by someone who lived nearby.

The footage showed HOWARD pulling into a Plaza Midwood apartment complex, getting out of a gray Toyota Corolla, opening a back door, bending over inside and ferociously swatting at something with one of his shoes. Soon after, HOWARD pulled a dog out from the backseat, pinned him/her to the ground and knee struck the pup multiple times before throwing him/her back into the car.

While the defenseless dog was being attacked, he/she was “whimpering and yelping”, stated the affidavit.

At that point, a witness stepped in and began yelling at HOWARD to stop hitting the dog. To that, HOWARD responded: “I don't give fuck about none of that.” The witness went on to say: “You cannot be hitting your dog in the head.” HOWARD then told the witness: “In the head, the stomach, don't give fuck where its at or how do it.

The video then ends there.

People started identifying HOWARD as the individual seen in the video.

The owner of an animal rescue had posted the video of the incident on her Instagram account trying to get information on HOWARD. When she was reading the comments, she came across a comment posted by “driftininndiesel” and according to the affidavit, it read:

My life fixin to be judge by 30 second video. My dog live great life. Am saying what did was right no. but do deserve jail time and my kids losing their dad no. Im (sic) 20. My dog, BLUE EYE (Bull dog) lives great life. don’t any one of yall people form (sic) can of paint but yall wasn’t there to witness. How much more of that video wasn’t posted yall don’t know and probably never will. Ill face what Ill face and lifes (sic) goes on. But don’t limit my anger to dog nor woman. But hey all this is, is comment out thousands. So we’ll see.”

The lady then reached out to Animal Control and the agency was able to positively identify the individual as CONNOR DE'LEON HOWARD. The affidavit stated that through investigative work, an address of 6106 Montego Drive was associated with HOWARD through a previous arrest.

Officers went to that address to make contact with HOWARD but there was no answer at the door although they could hear a dog barking from inside. When officers looked through the window, they saw a brown/white Bulldog Mix with blue eyes in a cage.

HOWARD was taken into custody on March 18, 2025, and charged with one felony count of cruelty to animals. He was booked into the Mecklenburg County Jail and released after posting a $5,000 secure bond.

Court records show that HOWARD is expected back in court on April 4, 2025, at 1:30 p.m.

The furvictim is in the care of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control (ACC) and has been checked by a veterinarian.

On a separate note, arrest records also indicate that HOWARD is being charged with a probation violation and that he also had two other arrests last year.

Court records indicate the previous arrests were for separate charges of assault on a female.
