KRYSTLE DENISE MITCHELL arrested – She tied her dogs so tightly that they couldn't move or breathe

- Pennsylvania, USA -

Pennsylvania State Police out of Washington County arrested 36-year-old KRYSTLE DENISE MITCHELL .

On September 26, 2024, officers were dispatched to a residence on 119 Poplar Street in Ellsworth Boro to investigate an animal cruelty report.

In the backyard of the residence, officers found two Rottweilers and a Mastiff. One of the Rottweilers and the Mastiff were “tightly tethered around a wooden post in such a way that their movement, ability to stand and ability to adequately breathe were restricted”, stated the release by Washington Police.

The Mastiff was laying on the ground unresponsive.

Ellsworth VFD responded to the scene and after administering oxygen to the Mastiff, the furvictim became responsive.

All three dogs were removed and thankfully, they are doing fine.

Reporter Cara Sapida with WPXI-TV spoke with one of the residents who alerted the police, Makiah Bayus. Mr. Bayus said one of the dogs had the “tongue all hanging out” and he did not think the dog was going to make it. He said: “It was so sad I almost went inside.” He added he kept texting his girlfriend and was about to cry.

Humane Officer Cathy Cunningham with the nonprofit C.R.I.C.A.A.T gave the dogs food and water and took them to the vet.

Police arrested MITCHELL, the owner of the residence, and charged her with two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, three counts of cruelty to animals and three counts of neglect to animals.

District Judge Curtis Thompson released MITCHELL on $50,000 unsecured bond.

Court records show that she is scheduled to appear back at Magisterial District Court on October 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.

Animal abuse / neglect is soaring in America. I cannot fathom how humans can be so cruel. Today’s rhetoric is fanning the flames & it is hurting animals as well. People that neglect are as bad as those that abuse. Bless the person who called. This country needs more people like Makiah Bayus. I sincerely hope these three precious souls quickly recover & find their forever loving homes.
