JESSICA BENET COOPER surrendered two puppies claiming she found them – One had to be euthanized

~ Update: February 7, 2025:


I heard back from Louisville Metro Animal Services and the following is what I learned about the two puppies. The puppy who was euthanized was an 8-week-old black female American Staff mix. Her name has not been revealed. The other puppy is a male, now around 15 weeks old, named Small Fry Joey.


I was told that “Small Fry Joey was in foster shortly after being turned in- he thrived in foster care” and he has been adopted.


I asked Animal Services where the puppies’ mom is and that is unknown.


Animal Services kindly provided me with two pictures of Small Fry Joey. The first one was taken when he was brought to the shelter, the second one was taken around January 11, 2025, when he was in foster care.

On February 5, 2025, Jefferson County authorities arrested 30-year-old JESSICA BENET COOPER (pictured).


It started back on December 16, 2024, when COOPER surrendered two newborn puppies to Louisville Metro Animal Services shelter claiming she found them as “stray.”


According to court documents obtained by Voice For Us, the shelter's veterinary examined both puppies and found one of them “was lateral, cold and wet with pale gums.” The vet determined that euthanasia was the most humane solution for the puppy.


From an investigation into COOPER conducted by LMAS, it emerged that on October 25, 2024, and on November 9, 2024, COOPER had posted videos and pictures on her Facebook accounts advertising five puppies for sale.


Two of those five puppies matched the two who had been brought to the shelter by COOPER.


On December 17, 2024, investigators contacted COOPER who eventually confessed that the two puppies she claimed she had found were in fact hers and agreed to go back to the shelter to show the paperwork.


Meanwhile, a necropsy was performed on the puppy who was euthanized and results showed his/her condition “was from emaciation with serious atrophy of fat and scant muscling.”


COOPER was charged with one misdemeanor count of cruelty to animals and one felony count of torture of a dog or cat. Her bond was set at $5,000. Court records show that her preliminary hearing is set for February 14, 2025


I took the liberty of naming the puppy who was euthanized Waffles for the tribute image. Should his/her given name be made public, I will rectify it accordingly.

DYLAN NIELSEN arrested after he posted a video on social media showing him kicking a dead puppy

After hearing back from the Redding Police Department, I learned that the furvictim was “an 8-week-old Irish Sutter, Labrador, and Chihuahua mix.”

The puppy was a male and his name is unknown.


NIELSEN had bought the puppy on February 4, 2025, from a woman in Palo Cedro. Police contacted the woman and she told officers that NIELSEN “did not appear intoxicated at the time of purchase. He was coherent, behaved normally, and appeared happy.”


Police tells me that after the puppy bit NIELSEN’s ankle, NIELSEN “stomped the poor puppy to death.” A necropsy is pending.

On the early evening of February 5, 2025, officers with the Redding Police Department responded to an apartment at Shasta Villa Apartments on 275 Hilltop Drive after receiving a disturbance call.


Officers learned that a resident, identified as 30-year-old DYLAN NIELSEN (pictured), had posted a video on social media showing him kicking a “lifeless” puppy.


Police said in a press release that when officers arrived, they were “able to negotiate for Nielsen to exit his apartment and then detained him safely.”


When officers entered the apartment, in the kitchen they found a deceased Golden Retriever puppy. Officers learned that NIELSEN had adopted the puppy the day before.


According to police, NIELSEN appeared to be suffering from severe detox hallucinations due to alcohol withdrawal. Officers determined that NIELSEN believed the puppy to be a mythical creature and killed him/her after the puppy bit his ankle.


A Redding Animal Regulation Officer responded to the scene to collect the deceased puppy.


NIELSEN was transported to the Shasta County Jail and booked on felony animal cruelty charges. At the time of writing, online arrest records show that NIELSEN is being held into the Shasta County Jail on $25,000 bail.


Authorities did not disclose the furvictim’s name, so I took the liberty of naming him/her Muffin for the tribute image. Should his/her given name be made public, I will rectify it accordingly.

HAVANNA DEJONET MILLER arrested for repeatedly hitting her defenseless puppy

- Texas, USA -


On Saturday, January 18, 2025, 23-year-old HAVANNA DEJONET MILLER (pictured), was arrested following an investigation by San Antonio Animal Care Services Cruelty Investigators with support from detectives with the S.A.P.D. Property Crimes Task Force.


MILLER is accused of repeatedly striking her defenseless 3-month-old Poodle puppy on the balcony of her apartment in the1200 block of Culebra.


The vile incident, that took place the day before MILLER’s arrest, was thankfully witnessed by a resident who promptly recorded it.


An investigation was immediately launched resulting in MILLER’s arrest and the rescue of the Voiceless Victim.


MILLER faces at least one count of animal cruelty-torture, a 3rd degree felony. Her bond was set at $15,000 and on January 19, 2025, she was released after posting it.
