Prompt and decisive intervention, siren on, rushing through traffic, topped up with love, hope, and determination saved a very precious life!

On the afternoon of May 16, 2024, NYPD officers from the 33 precinct responded to Highbridge Park at W. 165th Street and Edgecombe Avenue in Washington Heights after receiving a call about a puppy who was bleeding from the mouth.

Upon arrival, officers learned that 26-year-old CLEOPATRA MORGAN threw her dog and then dialed 911. The furvictim is a 1-year-old mini-Poodle named Rocket.

A distressing bodycam video posted on X by NYPD NEWS shows that while police were placing MORGAN under arrest, Officer Kelsey Garcia took Rocket off her and started cradling him while crying.

One of the officers can be heard asking Officer Garcia: “Kelsey, is the dog gonna live?”

No”, she answered. “He needs to go to the doctor”, she struggled to say as she was crying and stammering.

With Lieutenant Vincent Caprino behind the wheel, Officer Garcia at the front holding Rocket, and Officer Joseph Oshea at the back, Rocket made it to the ASPCA Animal Hospital.

According to the statement by the ASPCA provided to Voice For Us, Rocket arrived “in critical condition”.

The statement goes on to say:

Sadly, he had signs of a traumatic brain injury, was in shock, and his blood pressure and heart rate were very unstable. When Rocket arrived at our facility, he was also bleeding from his mouth and was found to have a fractured femur. Rocket was immediately treated with various types of intravenous fluids to address his traumatic brain injury and shock and was given pain medication. He was ultimately transferred to the Animal Medical Center (AMC), an ASPCA veterinary partner, so he could receive expert care from their critical care and neurology specialists. AMC diagnosed Rocket with a [hemiabdomen], meaning that he was bleeding into his belly, and he received an emergency blood transfusion. Once he was stable enough to undergo anesthesia, Rocket was transferred back to the ASPCA where his left femur fracture was surgically repaired. Rocket will remain in the ASPCA’s care as he continues to receive treatment for very serious injuries. He has a long road to recovery, and we’re doing everything we can to help him. It is thanks to the quick action of the NYPD officers who came to his rescue, and the expert care of ASPCA and AMC veterinary professionals, that Rocket is still with us today.”

MORGAN, whose face was blurred, told police that she “snapped”. The evil female is facing charges of aggravated cruelty to an animal, torture injury to an animal, criminal possession of a weapon, and false impersonation because she gave a false name when identifying herself with the authorities.

Court records show MORGAN is due at New York Criminal Court on June 26, 2024.

The Sandusky Police Department arrested 50-year-old RICHARD D. GOINGS (pictured).

According to the criminal complaint obtained by Voice For Us, on the early morning of Sunday, May 19, 2024, Officer Gautschi responded to a home in the 2200 block of Forest Drive to investigate an animal complaint.

Upon arrival, the officer found GOINGS standing beside his vehicle, crying. Laying on the ground, near the vehicle, was a lifeless female Pitbull.

According to the police report, “It appeared the dog may have passed away due to heat exhaustion.”

Officer Gautschi learned that GOINGS had gone home to take a shower and that he remained inside for half an hour. GOINGS claimed that he left his vehicle running and a window open.

GOINGS told the officer that when he came back out, the vehicle was no longer running and the window was rolled up. He speculated that the dog stepped on the window control and closed the window.

As noted in the report, the temperature inside of the vehicle may have reached 105 degrees.

Officer Gautschi reported that it appeared the dog spends “a lot of time in the vehicle and is believed to be living with Richard in the vehicle.”

On Monday, May 20, 2024, the case was submitted to the Erie County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and on the same day GOINGS was arrested on one felony count of cruelty to animals and booked into the Erie County Jail. Records show GOINGS was released after posting a $5,000 bond.

According to the complaint, GOINGS is due back at Erie County Municipal Court on May 29, 2024, at 10:a.m.

I took the liberty of naming the Voiceless Victim Doris, after Doris Day, my favorite actress who was also an amazing animal rights activist.

Should the furvictim’s given name be made public, I will rectify it accordingly.

~ Update: May 21, 2024

I was told by the Joliet Police Department that “…the dog is a 10-year-old brindle mini bull terrier named “Nibbles”.  He received emergency veterinary care that day of the incident and continues to receive daily medical care.  I am told that his condition is slowly improving.”

The Joliet Police Department arrested 36-year-old GIOVANNY Y. AGUILAR (pictured), of Joliet.

According to the Department’s press release obtained by Voice For Us, on the morning of Sunday, May 19, 2024, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of Croghan Avenue after receiving an animal cruelty complaint.

Upon arrival, officers learned that AGUILAR was seen in the backyard of his residence “violently kicking” a dog numerous times while the furvictim laid on the ground. In the press release, police identified the dog as a Bull Terrier but no additional information is known at this time.

Police and a representative from Joliet Township Animal Control found the dog still laying in the backyard of the residence. “The dog appeared conscious, but otherwise unresponsive”, stated the release.

Police said that at one point AGUILAR came out of the residence, picked up the dog, and tried to run back inside. Officers ordered AGUILAR to put the dog down but he ignored the officers’ commands and resisted when police attempted to arrest him.

After struggling, officers were able to place AGUILAR under arrest.

Will County Animal Control took the dog to be treated. Police said that the extent of his/her injuries is not known.

AGUILAR was processed and released on a Notice to Appear for Aggravated Cruelty to Animals and Resisting a Peace Officer.

I have sent out a few emails to inquire about the furvictim’s well-being. If I receive a response, I will post an update.

On a separate note, AGUILAR is listed on the Illinois sex offender registry after he pleaded guilty in 2009 to possession of child sex abuse images.
