WESLEY GEORGE KEYSER, former Madison County Detention Center employee, facing animal cruelty charges

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office arrested 53-year-old WESLEY GEORGE KEYSER (pictured) after several dogs and horses were found in “deplorable conditions.”

 

On October 24, 2024, deputies were alerted to issues regarding animal cruelty and responded to the given address to investigate.

 

Deputies found forty-five (45) dogs and four (4) horses suffering from malnutrition.

Madison County Sheriff Randy Tucker said the animals were not being provided any cover from the weather.

 

All the Voiceless Victims were taken to the Webster Animal Shelter in Madison where veterinarians are providing the care and treatment they need.

 

KEYSER was arrested on October 24, 2024, and terminated from his job at the Madison County Detention Center where he had been employed for approximately nine months.

 

Sheriff Tucker said that KEYSER will be charged with animal cruelty for each animal who was removed from the property. The sheriff said in a statement: “The dogs and horses were living in deplorable conditions, and it is our hope they will be matched with new owners. For those who hurt our animals, beware that we will take every legal measure to make sure you pay the price for hurting the defenseless. This will never be tolerated in Madison County.”

 

At the time of writing, online arrest records show that KEYSER is being held at the Madison County Detention Center on a $46,000 bond.

JOLISSA NOZIER charged with animal cruelty after her dog was found suffering from severe neglect

The Naugatuck Police Department announced through a press release that JOLISSA NOZIER was charged with animal cruelty.

 

On the early evening of October 20, 2024, officers responded to a residence on Carroll Street after receiving a “noise complaint regarding a barking dog.”

 

Officers learned from neighbors that the homeowner, NOZIER, had been away for approximately 24 hours.

From a basement window they could see a dog in a crate who was severely neglected.

 

Officers were able to contact NOZIER by phone and she later returned to the home to meet with the officers.

 

According to police, NOZIER confirmed to the officer that the dog, a 2-year-old male Poodle named Rocky, was hers and added that she had had him since he was a puppy.

 

Officers assessed Rocky and requested assistance from Animal Control. Rocky was surrendered to their care and taken to VCA Shoreline for treatment where he was found to be suffering from serious neglect.

 

Rocky is now in the care of Poodle Rescue Connecticut, Inc. and the organization said in a Facebook post that he has now been renamed Clarke.

As for NOZIER, police said she is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on November 20, 2024.

JAMAL ALI MOORE facing felony charges for allowing three of his dogs to die from starvation

~ Update: October 23, 2024

 

I heard back from the Lexington Police Department and I learned that the two furvictims who were found deceased at the home were one female puppy and a male puppy.

 

The furvictim who died at the shelter was a female puppy.

 

The two puppies who survived are a female and a male and the name of the adult female dog is Chino.

 

I had requested pictures and additional information but at this time no more details are available.

 

 

~ Original story:


On the afternoon of October 10, 2024, officers with the Lexington Police Department were dispatched to a home on 308 Williamson Street after receiving a report of a dead dog in the backyard.

 

Upon arrival, officers found the dead dog inside of a small, enclosed fence. But the poor soul was not the only one. In fact, there were a total of five dogs inside of the enclosed fence, including another dead dog. All of the furvictims were removed and taken to the Davidson County Animal Shelter.  A third dog who was taken from the home later died while at the animal shelter.

 

On the morning of October 18, 2024, police arrested 48-year-old JAMAL ALI MOORE (pictured) and charged him with five counts of animal abandonment, three felony counts of killing an animal by starvation, and two misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty.

 

The following day, police returned to the home at approximately 3:00 a.m. and executed a search warrant. Officials discovered an additional dog inside the home who was removed under the search warrant and was taken to the Davidson County Animal Shelter.

 

At the time of writing, records show that MOORE was released from the Davidson County Jail and is slated to appear in Lexington District Court on November 14, 2024.

 

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
