On Thursday, August 24, 2023, Allegheny County Police announced that animal cruelty charges, among others, have been filed against 44-years-old ALLISON LYN GAISER of Kittanning, Armstrong County, for abandoning her dog at Pittsburgh International Airport on August 4, 2023.

In a brief news release, police said, “Investigators determined Gaiser intentionally abandoned the dog near short-term parking before boarding a plane to a resort destination in Mexico.”

The furvictim, a male French Bulldog, was found by an Allegheny County police officer about 5:30 a.m. “sitting in the stroller outside the moving walkway enclosure next to glass exit doors in the short-term parking lot”, reports TRIB LIVE.

According to the news outlet, the dog was not restrained and under the stroller was a bowl with a bag of dog food inside, but there was no water.

The dog was microchipped and information identified the guardian as ALICIA GAISER with a couple of phone numbers. There were also a couple of emergency contacts but police’s attempts to contact them were unsuccessful.

Investigators were able to find GAISER’s Facebook account showing pictures of her with the dog she abandoned. After reviewing surveillance cameras, investigators learned that about 4:23 a.m. GAISER pushed the stroller with the dog in it as she entered the moving walkway from the long-term parking lot and then went to an airline ticket counter. After that, GAISER can be seen pushing the stroller with the dog inside back toward the moving walkway. Footage further showed GAISER heading to the spot where the dog was found and returning to the ticket counter without the furbaby.

GAISER returned from her trip on August 10, 2023, and police were at the airport waiting for her. According to police, GAISER admitted to leaving the dog. GAISER said she tried to take her dog with her but the airline wouldn’t allow him on the plane as he did not meet the criteria for an emotional support animal and did not have a proper kennel as required. GAISER went on to say that she made arrangements with her mother to pick up the dog from the airport and allowed police to review the text messages she exchanged with her mother. However, police said it was apparent that no immediate arrangement was made to pick up the dog.

Furthermore, GAISER’s mother told police that she only found out about her “grand doggie” being abandoned at the airport after her daughter’s ex-husband shared a news story about the dog being left at the airport.

Police said that the Voiceless Victim “is doing well and is still being fostered.”

GAISER is charged with “one misdemeanor count of animal cruelty, along with summary violations of animal cruelty, animal neglect and abandonment of animals by owner. These charges are being issued via summons”, said police.

GAISER’s preliminary hearing is slated to take place on October 16, 2023.

Animal Friends of Pittsburgh and the state dog warden assisted with the investigation.

On the afternoon of Sunday, September 11, 2022, police responded to the 1600 block of Saint Patrick Street in the city’s Arlington neighborhood after receiving an anonymous call about a dog yelping and crying in pain.

Upon arrival, when the responding officer stopped their vehicle to hear the dog, they saw a male, identified as 35-years-old PARIS LUNDY (pictured), open the door to a home while holding a dog on a leash at his South Side Slopes apartment.

WPXI described the furbaby as a female puppy. Police tells me that the breed is a Shepherd Husky mix.

The officer reported that the dog had blood on her paws and mouth, had a swollen, injured eye, and was emaciated.

According to a press release, the officer also witnessed LUNDY “aggressively pull the dog towards him on the leash and kick it in the face.”

The officer removed the VOICELESS VICTIM and animal control took her to PVSEC Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center to receive immediate emergency veterinarian care.

Pittsburgh Police Officer Christine Luffey, who specializes in animal neglect and abuse cases, told WPXI: “It’s absolutely heartbreaking and unacceptable what this animal went through.” She then added: “Many animals suffer in silence; we need to be their voice!

LUNDY, a filthy coward who takes out his frustration on a defenseless puppy unable to dial 911, was placed under arrest and taken to the Allegheny County Jail.

He is facing one third-degree felony charge for aggravated animal cruelty and one second-degree MISDEMEANOR charge of animal cruelty.

Online court records show that LUNDY is scheduled to appear in court on September 29, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. for his preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Kim Berkeley Clark.

The McKees Rocks Police Department is investigating after an injured Pitbull was found running loose in Allegheny County.

In a Facebook post police said that the furbaby was seen running on Third Street and officers eventually caught up with him a few blocks away on Frank Street.

Officers noticed “a severe wound to his belly” which is being investigated as possible abuse.

David Finnerty with McKees Rocks Police told WPXI over the phone: “We’re looking at it, there was obviously a puncture wound and there was some internal matter hanging from the dog’s abdomen which was concerning to us.”

Police said the dog, approximately 1 and a half to 2 years old, is extremely friendly. He was taken to PVSEC (Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center) on Camp Horne Road to undergo surgery and Finnerty said: “They have cared for him and he’s gonna make a full recovery. He has some stitches and they don’t believe any vital organs were affected as a result of this puncture wound.”

An employee with Animal Friends animal shelter, also on Camp Horne Road, later arrived at the emergency center and took the Pitbull back to the shelter.

Police are exploring all possibilities and are reaching out to the public in hopes of finding the Pitbull’s guardian.

According to WPXI, police said that if the furbaby’s guardian is not found, Animal Friends will take custody of him.
