JASMINE MOUTON and KENDEL TYLER arrested – She threw 2 puppies into a dumpster, he did not stop her

The St. Landry Parish Government arrested 22-year-old JASMINE MOUTON and 22-year-old KENDEL TYLER both of Opelousas.

 

The agency had reached out to the public for assistance in identifying a female who was captured by surveillance cameras dumping two puppies into a trash can outside of Sebastian West End Seafood on 1538 W Landry Street in Opelousas. The incident took place on the early evening of Sunday, June 2, 2024.

 

That female was later identified as MOUTON.

 

The disgusting video showed MOUTON and TYLER walking behind Sebastian West End Seafood; MOUTON was carrying a puppy and another was following her. She opened the dumpster, threw the puppy she was carrying into it, then grabbed the other puppy and threw him/her in too.

 

MOUTON and TYLER then walked away as if they had just dumped trash.

 

Officials said the puppies were found after a resident heard barking and after checking their surveillance camera, they saw what MOTON did. The puppies were in the dumpster for hours before they were found. Animal Control responded to the scene but the resident is caring for the furvictims. 

 

On June 3, 2024, MOUTON and TYLER were arrested on two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals charges.

 

At the time of writing, records show that MOUTON is being held into the St. Landry Parish Jail.

CHRISTINA J. HELM arrested for neglecting and abusing her dog

The Naperville Police Department arrested 32-year-old CHRISTINA J. HELM (pictured).

 

According to the Department’s media release, it all started back in October 2023, when a concerned citizen alerted Animal Control to “a case of potential animal abuse” at HELM’s apartment in the 100 block of Testa Drive.

 

The tipster explained that they had agreed to take care of HELM’s dog, a female Pitbull mix named Olive, while she was on a business trip.

 

Police said Olive was emaciated and could barely walk. Additionally, she had open sores on her hip bone. Olive was immediately taken to an emergency veterinary hospital where she was treated for starvation and dehydration. Veterinarians said the sores likely happened by having the furvictim caged in one position too long.

 

Naperville Police launched an investigation and as a result, Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians executed a search warrant at HELM’s residence where they found “evidence of alleged animal abuse”, stated the release.

 

On May 23, 2024, an arrest warrant was issued for HELM and she turned herself into the police on May 28, 2024.

HELM was booked into the DuPage County Jail on three felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and three misdemeanor counts of violations of owner’s duties.

HELM is also facing one misdemeanor count of endangering the life or health of a child “for allegedly committing aggravated animal cruelty to an animal that resided in the same residence as a minor”, said police.

 

Judge Joshua Dieden ordered HELM to be released on the condition that she does not have any animals. Court records show that HELM is due back in court on June 24, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.

 

As for Olive, she thankfully recovered and was first placed in the care of a shelter and later adopted.

AKAHIME JORDAN arrested after neglected and injured dogs and puppies were found at his home

The Columbus Police Department announced the arrest of 32-year-old AKAHIME JORDAN (pictured).

 

Police said in a press release that they received a tip about several dogs being chained outside JORDAN’s home, in the 500 block of Chesterfield Avenue, without proper shelter or access to water.

 

On May 28, 2024, the Columbus Police Department’s Special Operations Unit executed a search warrant at the property and while walking through the backyard, officers saw several dogs who appeared underweight, lacked access to food and water, and showed signs of injury.

Police said: “Equipment on his property suggested the dogs were potentially used in dog fighting.”

 

Police learned that inside the home JORDAN had more dogs so officers obtained a search warrant for inside the house.

 

The search led to the discovery of:

 

• Red Kia K5 sedan (reported stolen from Atlanta)

• Draco 9mm firearm

• Numerous credit cards and I.D. cards not belonging to the suspect

• 1,018.3 grams of marijuana

• 7.7 grams of methamphetamine

• 2 grams of spice

 

Animal Control Officers responded to the scene and rescued seven adult dogs and ten puppies. The Voiceless Victims are being treated by a veterinarian for injuries.

 

JORDAN was placed under arrest and charged with seventeen (17) felony counts of animal cruelty amongst other offenses. At the time of writing, records show JORDAN is being held into the Muscogee County Jail.
