- New York, USA -

An investigation into the death of an innocent puppy led New York State Police to arrest 27-year-old RAYMOND A. MANGIERI (pictured below).

The murderer, of Peru, was arrested on Wednesday, February 10, after it emerged from a probe that he killed a 7-month-old German Shepherd, named Ace, and then disposed of him in a garbage can as if he was trash.

According to the police press release, MANGIERI was charged with aggravated cruelty to animal, a class E felony under the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law.

The murderer was virtually arraigned by the Town of Saranac Court and released on his own recognizance.

The murderer is scheduled to return to the Peru Town Court at a later date.

The murderer, a New York State Parolee, was then transported to Clinton County Jail for violation of his parole.

Sun Community News reports that after MANGIERI reported Ace being missing, the community came together to look for the furbaby.

MANGIERI even circulated Ace’s picture online to facilitate the search.

Just hours later, the owner said the dog had been found and sadly he was not found safe”, reports Sun Community News.

Soon police were soon involved in the investigation and hours later they arrested MANGIERI.

An autopsy was expected to be performed February 11, to determine Ace’s cause of death.
