The Broward County Sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old RAYMANDA HERRING (pictured).

Deputies responded to a home in the 2900 block of Northwest Eighth Place in Fort Lauderdale, where they found a deceased male, mixed-breed Boxer named Pablo.

Pablo was found in the backyard of the home, tied to a fence by a 6-foot leash attached to his collar.

Deputies reported that Pablo was not only unable to lie down or move more than a foot because of the leash’s position, but was also left tied to the fence without food or water for days.

The investigation revealed that on Sunday, October 18, 2026, HERRING returned home to find that Pablo had urinated and defecated inside the house. This prompted HERRING to take Pablo into the backyard and tie him to the fence.

According to an affidavit, when HERRING returned home on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Pablo was still alive. HERRING told deputies that she left Pablo tied to the fence and did not provide him with any food or water.

Pablo was found dead later that evening.

The affidavit states that HERRING’s actions resulted in “the cruel death, or excessive or repeated infliction of unnecessary pain or suffering.”

Deputies arrested HERRING on October 21, 2026, and charged her with one felony count of causing the cruel death, pain, and suffering of an animal and one misdemeanor count of failing to provide sufficient food and water to a confined animal.

Bond was set at $25,000. At the time of writing, online arrest records indicated that HERRING remained in custody.

An online search of court records did not reveal the date of HERRING’s next court appearance.
