RAFAEL PADILLA MARQUEZ arrested for practicing medicine without a license leading to a dog’s death

- Texas, USA -

El Paso Police Department arrested 51-year-old RAFAEL PADILLA MARQUEZ (pictured below), of the 2000 block of Sun Tide Drive in El Paso.

The Department wrote in a Facebook post that a 3-year-old German Shepherd died of renal failure following a series of 8 injections administered by MARQUEZ in November of 2020.

Detectives with the Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit were alerted to this incident and began investigating.

It emerged that a second dog, a female Poodle, had also received multiple injections from MARQUEZ.

Detectives determined that MARQUEZ did not have a license to practice veterinarian medicine.

On February 12, MARQUEZ was placed under arrested and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on two counts of Non-License Vet and one count of Cruelty/Torture to Non-Livestock Animal.

MARQUEZ was released from jail on a $15,000 bond, the same day that he was booked.

Judge, you’d better hope he does not kill again!!!

If you sought veterinarian care from MARQUEZ, or if you know someone who did, please contact the ACIU Hotline at (915) - 212 - 0800. Thank you!
