LISA LOVEJOY arrested after refusing to get medical care for two dogs injured in a fight

- New York, USA -

On the early evening of Sunday, March 22, 2026, deputies with the Ontario County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a home on 4220 South Street in Stanley for a report of a fight between dogs.

Deputies responded to the scene where they were assisted by State Police.

As deputies and troopers managed to separate the two dogs involved in the fight, 48-year-old LISA LOVEJOY arrived at the home.

According to deputies, the two dogs were hurt and required medical care which LOVEJOY refused to provide.

The two dogs, along with eight others who were at the home, were removed and taken to the Ontario County Humane Society, Happy Tails Animal Shelter.

This was not an isolated incident. Last month, on February 7, an investigation into a call involving the same home revealed inadequate care for the dogs.

Deputies arrested LOVEJOY and transported her to the Ontario County Jail where she was booked on animal cruelty charges.

I have emailed the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office to inquire about the condition of the dogs. If I receive a response, I will post an update.
