JASON ALLEN BIGGERS arrested following a S.W.A.T. raid of a home in Lake County as part of a dogfighting investigation

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office arrested 48-year-old JASON ALLEN BIGGERS (pictured), following an investigation into dogfighting, conducted by Lake County Sheriff’s Office Agricultural Marine Unit Detectives.

According to the press release provided to Voice For Us, on the early morning of Wednesday, July 23, 2025, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. team and Agricultural Marine investigators executed a search warrant at a residence on 31938 3rd Avenue in Deland.

The search led to the discovery of twenty-nine (29) dogs. The sheriff's office said the furvictims, ranging in age from elderly to puppies, were found “chained and in kennels.”

The majority of the dogs had scarring consistent with dogfighting, and were in various stages of healing.

The sheriff's office said the search also revealed the presence of narcotics.

BIGGERS was arrested and charged with twenty-nine counts of baiting and fighting of animals and twenty-nine counts of animal cruelty.

At the time of writing, records show BIGGERS is being held at the Lake County Jail on a $150,000 bond.

All of the furvictims were placed at the Lake County Animal Shelter.

A spokesperson for the sheriff's office tells me that no animals were found deceased and none of the rescued dogs were euthanized.
