ANTREAL MAUTRICE HENDERSON arrested for leaving a malnourished dog chained in freezing weather

- North Carolina, USA -

Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins announced the arrest of 25-year-old ANTREAL MAUTRICE HENDERSON (pictured below).

According to the Sheriff’s Facebook post, on Saturday, February 20, Robeson Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to 2394 Buies Mill Road in Red Springs, after receiving a report about an animal violation.

Thankfully, a decent citizen had reported that a dog was being kept chained in standing cold water with a doghouse halfway flooded as well.

According to the Sheriff’s post, the temperatures during the prior two nights were below freezing.

Animal Cruelty Investigator Katherine Floyd also responded to the scene.

It emerged that the property had not been occupied for about two weeks.

The poor furbaby was shivering, wet, and malnourished.

The dog was immediately rescued and transported to a local veterinarian hospital for treatment and care.

HENDERSON was charged with abandonment of an animal and cruelty to animals.

HENDERSON was released on a $2,500 secure bond.

Online records show that HENDERSON has a morning court date on March 9, 2021.

On a side note, as I Googled HENDERSON, I learned that he had been arrested in December 2019.

Back then CBS 17 reported that HENDERSON and another individual threw firearms, heroin, and cocaine from a vehicle as they fled authorities.
