ANDREW JUAN DESHIELD arrested for leaving his dog in a hot car while he was inside a casino

The Bensalem Police Department arrested 62-year-old ANDREW JUAN DESHIELD (pictured).

The affidavit provided to Voice For Us by the police accuses DESHILED of leaving his dog named Gucci in a hot car in the parking lot of Parx Casino while he was inside gambling. The incident happened on Sunday, June 29, 2025.

A spokesperson for the Bucks County SPCA tells me that Gucci was a 4-year-old gray and white Pitbull mix.

Concerned witnesses called the police to report that a dog was left alone inside a vehicle and officers responded to the scene. The police said officers found Gucci dehydrated and suffering from neurological issues due to the heat, so they rushed him to a BluePearl Animal Hospital location. Gucci’s temperature was 108 degrees and his gums were discolored.

According to police, DESHIELD refused medical treatment for Gucci and took him back home.

The following day, a police officer along with Animal Control and the Bucks County SPCA went to Quality Inn where DESHIELD was staying, and found Gucci lifeless in the back of DESHIELD’s car.

The SPCA removed Gucci to be properly disposed of.

DESHIELD was placed under arrest and on June 30, 2025, he was arraigned before District Judge Joseph Falcone on three felony charges of aggravated cruelty to animals and related misdemeanors. DESHILED was then transported to Bucks County Correctional Center in lieu of $200,000 bail.
