~ Original story:
29-year-old ALLISSA DESTEFANO (pictured below), was arrested on Thursday, November 21, and has been charged with three counts of animal cruelty.
DESTEFANO abandoned three dogs in a vacant Lacey Township home.
The poor furbabies were found dead on November 11, after police received a complaint that dogs had possibly been abandoned.
When officials responded to the scene, they confirmed the property was empty and the carcasses of three dogs were discovered.
The accused was released the same day of her arrest on a summons pending a future court date.
Since the dogs died as a result of an animal cruelty incident, the charges filed against DESTEFANO are considered a third-degree crime, so each count could land her to up to 18 months in prison.
