CHASE DOUGLAS LEROY abused, tortured, and injured three defenseless dogs but will avoid prison time

24-years-old CHASE DOUGLAS LEROY (pictured) was found guilty of abusing or injuring three dogs on three separate occasions but will avoid prison time.


On May 11, 2023, LEROY was charged with one felony count of animal mistreatment and two misdemeanor counts of intentionally mistreating animals.


The felony count refers to a case in which LEROY threw a Poodle puppy named Annie so hard that she was unable to walk. The veterinarian who examined Annie diagnosed her with a broken femoral head, which required surgery to remove the broken portion of the bone, and x-rays showed an additional, older fracture to Annie’s tibia. Furthermore, LEROY’s ex-girlfriend told police that LEROY put Annie’s face in the toilet, then flushed while holding the furbaby’s head inside as punishment.


Wausau Daily Herald reports that according to a criminal complaint, when LEROY threw Annie, the ex-girlfriend was in her bedroom with a child and LEROY was in the kitchen. The woman heard Annie scream and said that LEROY put Annie in the kennel after throwing her. The woman said she got Annie out of the kennel and put her in her bed to see if she would move but Annie could not. The woman told police LEROY admitted to throwing Annie and that she had landed on all four of her legs. The woman failed to take Annie to the vet right away and waited four days. Not only that, but according to the complaint, she and LEROY agreed to lie about how Annie got injured to protect LEROY. Annie was kept for four days in pain in addition to not being able to walk, move, eat, or drink.


In a separate incident, an Aussiedoodle named MooMoo was also abused, tortured, and injured. LEROY’s ex-girlfriend told authorities that after MooMoo peed on the bed sheets, she saw MooMoo’s nose dripping blood and sneezing blood from her nose with a bloodshot eye. The woman also said that because MooMoo would pee inside the home, LEROY kept her on a short leash in the basement and gave her only one cup of water once or twice a day. Furthermore, the woman said that at one point she saw MooMoo tied to a pole on a one-foot lead surrounded by a day’s worth of feces and urine on the floor.


Annie and MooMoo were removed from the evil home and charges were filed against LEROY. At that point, LEROY became upset with the woman and began calling her derogatory names, told her to kill herself, and hit her.


In February of this year, Wausau’s humane officers responded to a home on South Sixth Avenue after receiving a report of a dog left outside in extreme cold conditions. At the time of the reported incident, the weather was 4 degrees with a -11 wind chill. Officers said the dog had been left outside for more than two hours and was visibly shivering.


The woman told authorities that LEROY was upset that the courts had seized the dogs and got violent with her to the point that she feared for her life.


On October 20, 2023, LEROY was sentenced to a year in jail after, as part of a deal, he pled guilty to mistreatment of an animal, felony disorderly conduct as a repeat domestic abuse incident, misdemeanor battery, and having contact after a domestic abuse arrest. Several other charges were dismissed but read in.


Marathon County Circuit Judge Michael Moran withheld the sentence and ordered LEROY to spend four years on probation and sentenced him to a year in jail as a condition of the probation. Moran also ordered this filth to have no unapproved contact with his victims, and not to own animals and not to live with any animals. Additionally, the filth was ordered to undergo any counseling deemed necessary.

KORBIN JAMES BENNETT caught on video punching, slamming, and swinging his girlfriend’s dog

The Stevens Point Police Department arrested 20-yeard-old KORBIN JAMES BENNETT (pictured), for animal abuse.


According to a police report obtained by Voice For Us, on the afternoon of Monday, October 31, 2022, Stevens Police Sgt. Poeschel was traveling on Water Street near Main Street when he saw a brown dog with dark colored muzzle, and no collar walking in the area.

Sgt. Poeschel’s attempt to lure the furbaby into his vehicle was unsuccessful so he notified dispatch.

Sgt. Poeschel learned that a male named Korbin had called stating he was looking for a similar dog. Sgt. Poeschel then followed the dog to the intersection of Bukolt Avenue and Second Street. On the scene, BENNETT arrived in a white Volvo sedan with Iowa plates. It turned out that he was the Korbin who had called police. Police said another male was driving the vehicle and was identified as Drew Ahlborn.

BENNETT told Sgt. Poeschel they took the dog to the Stevens Point Dog Park and as they were about to leave, the dog ran away.


Meanwhile, dispatch received a call from Tee-Roy's Repair on 916 Park Street. The caller reported that a male and a dog came onto the property and the male started beating a dog. The caller also stated that the male body slammed the dog causing him/her to draw blood. The dog described by the caller, matched the dog whom BENNETT was trying to catch.

Sgt. Poeschel then responded to the scene and spoke with two witnesses.

The witnesses first told Sgt. Poeschel what they saw and then showed him surveillance camera.


Sgt. Poeschel wrote in his report: “The footage shows the tan dog approach the fence, the same dog I observed earlier. Korbin is behind the dog, wearing the same clothing he was wearing when he came to catch the dog earlier. Korbin approaches the dog and steps on the leash. Korbin pulls the leash towards him, punching the dog twice in the head. Korbin then picks up the dog by the leash/ collar to approx. neck level and flips it over, slamming it on to the ground on [its] back. Korbin pins the dog down with his left hand and punches it approx. 6 times in the head/ neck area. Korbin appeared to swing from above his head, making full swings. Korbin holds the dog by the collar and at this time Justin appears in the video. Korbin again picks up the dog by [its] collar/ neck and lifts it above his head, flipping it over and slamming it down on the ground on [its] back.”


Sgt. Poeschel also reported that the male who was driving the Volvo, Ahlborn, at some point can also be seen in the video. The footage goes on to show that the dog slips his/her collar and run away while BENNETT walks away with the leash. Sgt. Poeschel noted that both BENETT and Ahlborn in the video were wearing the same clothes they were wearing earlier when he spoke with them.


Facts gathered on the scene, led Sgt. Poeschel to go to a residence on 165 Old Wausau Road where a resident stated that the dog’s guardian is Marie Depietro.

Sgt. Poeschel made contact with Depietro and she later went to the police station. She then watched the video footage from Tee-Roy's Repair and identified BENNETT, the male beating her dog, as her boyfriend. According to Sgt. Poeschel, Depietro appeared distraught after watching the video. She explained that BENNETT was watching her dog while she was at work. Depietro said the dog did not appear injured but may have bruising.


According to the report, Sgt. Poeschel was advised by dispatch that BENNETT “had several active warrants and several open CCAP cases.”

Sgt. Poeschel located BENNETT and Ahlborn in the driveway of 2701 Blaine Street, both wearing the same clothing as in the video and when he spoke to them earlier. BENNETT told Sgt. Poeschel he did not have an ID on him and “began stepping back.” Sgt. Poeschel grabbed BENNETT’s arm to prevent him from fleeing and he turned away. As he tried to step away, and was being evasive, Sgt. Poeschel placed him under arrest. BENNETT “admitted that the dog ran away from the dog park and he disciplined it when he caught it at 916 Park St. by striking it and picking it up by [its] neck. Korbin denied body slamming the dog”, stated the report.


The report goes on to state that as requested by the District Attorney’s Office, on November 16, 2022, Sgt. Poeschel contacted Depietro over the phone to follow up about her dog. Depietro “stated that she did not take the dog to the vet after the incident and did not notice any injuries or possible injuries to the dog.”


I have emailed the Stevens Point Police Department and requested additional information about the VOICELESS VICTIM.


I will also email the District Attorney’s Office because unless Depietro is a veterinarian, I do not understand why she did not take her dog to the vet and how was she able to not notice any injuries!


According to court records, on November 7, 2022, at his initial court appearance, BENNETT pleaded not guilty to one Misdemeanor count of Intentionally Mistreat Animals. His pre-trial conference is scheduled for December 5, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. before Judge Patricia Baker.
