The Bellevue Police Department arrested 24-years-old DEYJION TYRONE JEFFERSON (pictured).

In an emotional interview with KETV, Kiki Mathos explained that she and her seven-year-old son were out of town when her husband, JEFFERSON, committed the crime on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

JEFFERSON is accused of beating two cats, Reena and her sister Loka, with a wooden back scratcher.

KETV reports that according to police documents, JEFFERSON video messaged his wife Kiki to show her the injured furbabies. Kiki then alerted the authorities and the Bellevue Police Department along with the Nebraska Humane Society responded to the couple’s apartment.

Sadly, Reena later passed away, and Loka is being treated for serious bodily injuries.

While in tears, Kiki told KETV that she had had Reena and Loka since they were babies. She said: “You say cats, I say daughters.” She said that JEFFERSON beat the cats because they had scratched the carpet. Kiki rightfully said: “So what? My son draws on the wall, you’re gonna do the same thing to him?

6 News reports that JEFFERSON told police he was stressed and with a wooden back scratcher he “hit the cats about 10 times.”

6 News further reports that after JEFFERSON said he was stressed, he “allegedly told an officer he occasionally used marijuana and pointed to an ashtray that held smoked blunts in his kitchen. A marijuana grinder was also found by an officer in his apartment.”

JEFFERSON is charged with intentional animal cruelty.

He made his first court appearance on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, and bond was set at $10,000. The savage is expected back in court on November 27, 2023.

Kiki has a GoFundMe to raise money for Loka’s medical bills. If you wish and can afford to donate, please click here. Thank you!

The Grand Island Police Department arrested 25-years-old MEGAN MARIE KLATT (pictured) after she was witnessed abusing a defenseless puppy.

According to a media release by the Department, on the early afternoon of Monday, September 4, 2023, a passerby saw KLATT “forcefully kick the puppy in the ribs multiple times along with forcefully punching the dog in the rib multiple times while outside.”

The witness also saw KLATT pick up the dog and “forcefully” slam the furbaby to the ground several times.

An officer responded to a property on 2004 North Wheeler Avenue and made contact with KLATT, the puppy’s guardian. Police said that the 6-month-old puppy had “a possible broken leg for the past couple of days and a large lump to the top of its head.”

The Central Nebraska Humane Society responded to the scene and took custody of the Voiceless Victim.

Police said that KLATT attempted to run back into the residence to get away from officers but she was caught and placed under arrest. KLATT is charged with felony cruelty to animals and obstruction.

On February 26, 2023, TERRANCE FEAIRS, of Omaha, called the Nebraska Humane Society about euthanizing his 3-year-old dog.

Steve Glandt, Nebraska Humane Society vice president of field operations, told 6 News that following the call, an NHS Animal Control officer went to FEAIRS’ home and when he saw the dog, he thought the dog was deceased.

The furbaby was alive but the ACO in his report described the dog as a “skeleton with skin draped on it.”

The dog was evidently extremely emaciated and had numerous sores over his/her body.

The ACO reported that the poor dog was confined to a restricted area where he/she would eat, sleep, defecate, and urinate and called the living conditions “deplorable.”

FEAIRS told the ACO that he had bought the dog approximately three years ago and that he/she had been in very poor health for a year and a half. FEAIRS admitted that he had not taken the dog to the vet. FEAIRS couldn’t care less about the poor dog whom he did not even name!

Furthermore, when the ACO asked him the gender of the dog, FEAIRS said he had to check!

The ACO rushed the dog to the Nebraska Humane Society for emergency care and it was determined that he/she had developed sepsis after digesting foreign bodies and was suffering many other conditions that would not allow for recovery. Sadly, the decision was made to euthanize the innocent voiceless victim.

FEAIRS was cited for cruelty to animals, for not having a pet license or proof of the dog’s vaccination, and for public nuisance due to unsanitary conditions.

6 News reports that “After the Humane Society reviewed the case, the cruelty charge was upgraded to a Class 4 felony: animal neglect or cruelty resulting in injury or death.”

Mr. Glandt said in an email to 6 News: “This case depicts a person that should never have owned an animal; someone that left a pet who is solely dependent on him to suffer through unimaginable conditions.”

On the afternoon of Thursday, March 23, 2023, FEAIRS appeared in Douglas County Court and was released on his own recognizance on the condition that he is not allowed to have any animals at his home.

FEAIRS’ preliminary hearing is scheduled to take place on April 24, 2023.
