After a fire broke at the W-Underdogs shelter in Atlanta, a selfless homeless man with a big heart stepped in and saved all the cats and dogs trapped in the fire.

The incident happened on December 18, after a fire engulfed the shelter’s kitchen.

The angel on earth is 53-year-old Keith Walker, pictured with his Pitbull named Bravo.

Mr. Walker told CNN: “I was nervous as hell, I'm not going to lie. I was really scared to go in there with all that smoke. But God put me there to save those animals. If you love a dog, you can love anyone in the world. My dog is my best friend, and I wouldn't be here without him, so I knew I had to save all those other dogs.”

Speaking about Mr. Walker, the shelter’s founder, Gracie Hamlin, told CNN: “He is my guardian angel. Even the firefighters didn't want to handle the dogs. They called animal control, but Keith was already in the building pulling out the cats and dogs until they were all safe.”

Mr. Walker managed to rescue all the furbabies – 10 cats and 6 dogs.

Gracie said that while the shelter was not completely destroyed, the fire left it uninhabitable.

The good news is that W-Underdogs was in the process of moving into a new facility where all the animals now live.

W-Underdogs, wrote in a Facebook post: “We have received a flood of requests on how people can help Mr. Keith Walker, the hero who saved our animals from the fire. Rest assured we have Mr. Walker’s best interests at heart, and are exploring how to best manage donations that have come in on his behalf. Please understand that the issues surrounding Mr. Walker’s homelessness are complex, and we need to proceed with care. Toward this end, we will be seeking an organization experienced in working with homeless and vulnerable populations to be his advocate and ensure that his needs, wishes, safety and well-being are taken into account. This will take some time, as we are currently stretched to the limit resource-wise and are still operating in crisis mode.”

CNN reports that Mr. Walker was on his way to the shelter to pick up Bravo and take him for a walk when he saw the fire.

In fact, the shelter also explained in their post that W-Underdogs have: “already been working with Mr. Walker for a quite some time now, giving him various jobs throughout the years. Additionally, we have always provided food and shelter to his dog Bravo. This will not change in our new location.”

Thank you, Mr. Walker for risking your life to save all these precious souls.

Wishing you all the best!

Let’s start the day with a piece of good news!

Manuel Dzib and Daniel Campos are two friends who started working on an important project two years ago, which they were able to complete despite the pandemic and the lack of employment.

Manuel and Daniel have built a motorized carriage to replace horse-drawn carriages which will effectively put an end to animal exploitation in Motul.

So, as reported by The Yucatán Times, “If you visit Motul, Yucatan, you can enjoy a ride on a motorized carriage, with which the municipality is saying goodbye to animal exploitation.”

Manuel said: “Due to the pandemic, we were left without a job and we decided to build a motorized carriage. I have been a calesero for many years, Daniel’s father has been a calesero all his life, and the intention to manufacture the vehicle was also born there.”

He then explained: “Everything was made by hand, we did the entire structure and assembly, the rear part is from a motorcycle, the front part is from a car, and the top part is made just like the regular carriages, with its emblematic parts.”

They recalled that the attraction seeks to adapt to the next animal protection laws, as well as to continue the emblematic tradition that has been carried out for many years.

Mexico News Daily reports that Motul has become the second city in the state to replace horse-drawn carriages with motorized ones.

Mérida was the first city in the state to begin using gas-powered buggies in November 2019.

According to Mexico News Daily, in 2017 horse-drawn carriages were banned in Guadalajara, Jalisco and speaking at the time, then-mayor Enrique Alfaro Ramírez said: “We cannot continue to mistake the idea of tradition with animal abuse. That no longer has a place in Guadalajara; we’ve put a stop to it today.”

I absolutely echo that!

On Wednesday, December 23, Mrs. Kristin Clark was unloading Christmas presents from her car into her business on E. Francis and Napa in Spokane and left her BMW unattended for a few minutes.

That’s all it took for someone to steal her car, a few minutes.

When Kristin returned, not just her car was gone.

Her dog Copper, who was sleeping inside the vehicle in the back seat, was also gone.

Kristin alerted Spokane Police and officers started asking for the public’s help in finding her furbaby, described as a fox red Lab with unique eyes.

Kristin told KREM2: “My heart just dropped.”

Because a car is replaceable, money is replaceable, but Copper is not”, she added.

After 22 minutes that Spokane police sent out the initial call for help, a hopeful tip came through.

A citizen called the police to report that a dog and a BMW had been left in a parking lot near 200 E Lincoln Road since 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 24.

Police confirmed that the vehicle belonged to Kristin and thankfully, Copper was found inside safe and sound.

Spokane police officer John O'Brien immediately called Kristin.

She said in disbelief: “You found my dog and my car?”

Kristin told KREM2: “Yeah, that was probably the best phone call I could have ever gotten, I got my baby back.”

She then said: “He was in the car all night in the cold - freezing cold with no water, no nothing. But they cracked the window, I appreciate that.”

Kristin thinks whoever stole the car did not realize Copper was there and when they saw him, they panicked and ran.

That would explain why the vehicle was found so close.

"Christmas is totally back on” said Kristin.

Spokane Police are investigating the incident.

If you have any information related to this case, please call Spokane Police. Thank you!
