A group of sick and cruel children set an innocent dog on fire and posted the video online just to get damn likes!
The Sun reports that the incident happened in the Zarnesti commune, in south-western Romania’s Buzau county.
The brief video published by the Sun shows the poor furbaby being held by someone while someone else pours flammable liquid over the dog’s back.
The dog then runs away frightened while his abusers can be heard laughing.
It was nighttime and the video is very dark, but the abuse is irrefutable.
A 13-year-old monster than posted the video on social media.
57-year-old Ion Marcel Vela, Minister of Internal Affairs, said the puppy was found alive and placed in the care of the nonprofit “Kola Kariola” in Calarasi.
The Sun reports: “Vela said that the animal had been the victim of a terrible crime committed by several kids. The children hurt the dog in a desperate attempt to get 'likes' on social media after sharing the sickening attack online.”
Mr. Vela also added: “Cruelty to animals committed by young people has extremely serious implications for their later behavior and can quickly become violence against other people.”
The politician suggested that animal abuse in this part of the country should be tackled with a special task group within the law enforcement.
I have checked Kola Kariola’s Facebook page to see if there were updates on the furbaby and from what I could understand, the puppy has been named Bailey and he is still hospitalized at City Vet.
Vets are still running tests on him and took a new set of X-rays.
I have emailed the organization to inquire more thoroughly about this case.
Hopefully they will respond so that I can post an update.
In the meantime, police have confirmed that an investigation is underway, but the identity and age of these young criminals have not been made public.
The Sun quotes PETA as saying that in the US: “43 per cent of killers carrying out schoolyard massacres had committed acts of cruelty to animals beforehand. Animals have often been targets of aggression prior to school shootings.”
