61-year-old VICTORIA ANN SHOOPMAN (pictured) has been sentenced after pleading guilty to two animal cruelty charges.

Clermont County authorities had arrested SHOOPMAN back in July 2025, on accusations of slowly starving a dog named Apollo to death. SHOOPMAN was charged with two counts of cruelty to a companion animal and one count of failure to register. She was arraigned on July 22, 2025, and pleaded not guilty.

The complaint accused SHOOPMAN of depriving Apollo of food and water over a prolonged period of time, ultimately leading to his death.

In July, Apollo was found close to death on the side of the road by a passerby who reached out to Ashley Barber, a veterinary technician, for assistance. Ms. Barber then contacted Kim Bush, who runs Rescue Me Animal Advocacy, and they both took Apollo to an emergency veterinary center.

Although Ms. Barber fostered Apollo and took care of him, Apollo was in such poor condition that he did not survive.

On October 16, 2025, judge Nathan M. Little sentenced SHOOPMAN to 130 days in jail, with 42 days suspended. According to court documents, SHOOPMAN received a lifetime ban from owning, keeping, or harboring any animals. After completing the handful of days behind bars, SHOOPMAN will be on probation for two years.

Here is another judge that made animal cruelty a mockery!!!!!
