STANLEY EDWARD REDD JR. held on parole violation after the discovery of a dogfighting ring

- Ohio, USA -

The Warren Police Department wrote in a Facebook post that on Tuesday, May 18, the department’s Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a property on 747 Austin Avenue SW after several months of investigating drug activity.

Officials, however, were not prepared for what they found.

The search revealed an elaborate dog-fighting operation and the discovery of two dog training treadmills, splattered with blood, as well as $62,000 in cash, two firearms, and drugs.

One of the suspects in this case, 42-year-old STANLEY EDWARD REDD JR. (pictured below), was booked in the Trumbull County Jail on a parole violation.

Since REDD JR. is on parole, the Parole Authority searched the home on Bane Street SW where he was living.

Inside the property officials found seven dogs who now are in the care of the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County.

Its CEO, Lori Shandor, told FOX8 most of the dogs are males with age ranging between 2 years old and under.

Ms. Shandor also said that the furbabies don’t have significant scarring typically found on dogs used for bait but appear to be small for their ages.

She then added: “It’s such a terrible situation. Fortunately, these animals are young and they can hopefully be worked with and rehabilitated.”

Two days after the discovery of the seven dogs, the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County announced that five additional dogs were found in a third location, as part of this ongoing investigation.

FOX8 reports that Ms. Shandor said: “There is, unfortunately, a decent amount of dog fighting that happens in the Trumbull County area.”

REDD JR. is being held on a parole violation with other charges pending.

According to online records, REDD JR. has a long criminal history that goes back to 1997.

Penny Eims has published a petition on Animalvictory.org and needs our support “to ensure that this man receives the maximum punishment for each and every charge stemming from this horrible situation! He must be prevented from ever doing this again.”

Let’s make it happen!
