QUINTIN JAMES EHLO arrested on accusation of murdering his girlfriend’s service dog

The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old QUINTIN JAMES EHLO following an investigation into the death of his girlfriend’s service dog.

The incident happened at Aghaming Park Preserve in Winona, MN, which is under the legal jurisdiction of Wisconsin’s Buffalo County.

According to the report, on July 10, 2026, EHLO called his girlfriend and told her to come to Aghaming Park Preserve at once because her dog was not doing well.

Sadly, when the girlfriend arrived, her 8-year-old German shepherd named Tru was dead. EHLO told his girlfriend it was heat stroke.

The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the incident. The girlfriend explained to deputies that she and EHLO had been dating for six to seven months and recently moved in together at an apartment in Winona, MN, after moving from Arizona. The girlfriend told deputies that EHLO frequently expressed hatred for Tru adding that he repeatedly threatened to harm Tru.

According to the girlfriend, EHLO took Tru while she was asleep, without her permission, and then called her and asked her to meet him at Aghaming Park Preserve.

A necropsy was performed on Tru and results revealed that Tru died of blunt-force trauma, refuting EHLO’s statement that it was heat stroke.

EHLO was charged in Buffalo County, WI for mistreatment of an animal causing death, criminal damage to property, and disorderly conduct.

EHLO is slated to appear at Buffalo County Circuit Court on September 2, 2026.
