MIRANDA RENNE HUTTON arrested after being witnessed beating and dragging her dog down the road

- West Virginia, USA -

Boone County authorities arrested 28-years-old MIRANDA RENNE HUTTON (pictured), of Alkol.

On the early evening of Monday, March 4, 2024, deputies responded to a call from a witness who reported seeing HUTTON beating and dragging her dog. The incident happened in Morrisvale.

WCHS reports that according to a criminal complaint, the dog had a piece of string tied around his/her neck while being dragged by HUTTON. According to the witness, the Voiceless Victim was whimpering, limping and “hardly able to walk.” Additionally, the criminal complaint accuses HUTTON of striking the furbaby with her fist.

Animal Control was called in and took the dog to a local veterinarian clinic.

The responding deputy said that HUTTON appeared to be intoxicated and reported that HUTTON admitted to using drugs. Reportedly, HUTTON told the deputy that she had been kicked out of a nearby house and took her frustrations out on her dog.

HUTTON was placed under arrest for animal cruelty. At time of writing, online records show that she is being held at the Southwestern Regional Jail & Correctional Facility on a $40,000 bond.

I have sent out emails to inquire about the dog’s well-being. If I get a response, I will post an update.
