LOUIS COLLINS CLARK arrested for abandoning his dogs

- North Carolina, USA -

The Ayden Police Department arrested 64-year-old LOUIS COLLINS CLARK (pictured).

Warrants say on Sunday, September 14, 2024, CLARK abandoned his dogs and left them without food and water.

The arrest warrant identified the dogs as a female brown and white American Pitbull Terrier and a male brown and white American Pitbull Terrier. Their ages and names were not mentioned.

Additionally, according to the arrest warrant, when the female dog was abandoned, she was in an “erotic stage of copulation.”

CLARK is accused of failing to vaccinate his dogs, abandoning them and letting them run free, causing them to become injured. CLARK also failed to care for the dogs’ injuries.

CLARK was taken into custody on September 18, 2025, and booked into the Pitt County Jail.

Records show he was charged with two counts of cruelty to animals, two counts of abandonment of an animal, two counts of dog/cat/ferret vaccination, dogs running at large prohibited, and allowing the female dog in heat to roam free.

At the time of writing, online arrest records show that CLARK is being held on a $8,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Pitt County District Court on November 13, 2025, at 8:55 a.m.

I have emailed the Ayden Police Department and requested more information about the dogs. If I get a response, I will update the article accordingly.
