JUSTIN CHRISTOPHER GOLDEN arrested after an investigation into suspected dogfighting

- South Carolina, USA -

The Hampton County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that following an extensive investigation involving allegations of animal cruelty, narcotics trafficking, and possession of stolen property, deputies arrested 29-year-old JUSTIN CHRISTOPHER GOLDEN (pictured), of Sandy Run Road Hampton.

On October 16, 2025, deputies executed search warrants at two locations associated with GOLDEN, Estill, and Sandy Run Road in Hampton.

At both properties, law enforcement officers discovered multiple dogs believed to have been “owned for the purpose of animal fighting or baiting,” stated the release.

The release further stated that the poor souls were housed “in inadequate conditions, lacking protection from extreme weather and without consistent access to clean food or water.”

Additionally, investigators said that the living areas showed evidence of continuous tethering.

All of the furvictims were removed with the assistance of the Animal Control Division of the sheriff's office.

During the execution of the search warrants, deputies also discovered and seized narcotics, weapons, ammunition, and stolen goods.

GOLDEN was handcuffed and charged with animal fighting or baiting act penalty, twenty counts of ill treatment of animals in general (torture), amongst other charges.

At the time of writing, records show that GOLDEN is being held into the Hampton County Detention Center.
