JONATHAN SYKES arrested for injuring his cat causing the furvictim broken bones and internal injuries

- New York, USA -

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old JONATHAN SYKES (pictured) of Kirkland, accused of severely injuring his cat.

Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol said that on August 7, 2025, deputies were notified that an injured cat had been taken to the Clinton Pet Vet. Deputies learned that the cat had broken bones and internal injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit assumed the investigation which revealed that SYKES “had treated the feline inhumanely while it was in his possession, which resulted in the cat’s injuries”, stated the press release by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested SYKES on August 18, 2025, and charged him with one felony count of aggravated cruelty to animals and one misdemeanor count of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals-failure to provide proper sustenance.

SYKES is scheduled to appear in Kirkland Town Court in September.

I reached out to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office to inquire about the furvictim’s well-being but at the time of writing, I have not received a response.
