JAYME MICHELLE WHITE arrested for zipping her dog up in a suitcase

- Pennsylvania, USA -

On the late evening of Friday, December 26, 2025, officers with the Pittsburgh Police Department responded to the 400 block of Avery Street.

Upon arrival, they spoke with a witness who stated that a female had been yelling at her dog and then zipped the dog up inside the suitcase she was walking with.

The female was later identified as 56-year-old JAYME MICHELLE WHITE.

When officers spoke with WHITE and asked her whether she had a dog inside the suitcase, she confirmed that.

According to the officers, the dog had no way of breathing as the suitcase was totally closed.

As per the criminal complaint, after officers told WHITE that she could not zip up her dog inside the suitcase, she let the furvictim out.

Officers then learned from another witness that WHITE had gotten mad at the dog and hit him/her multiple times. While officers were talking to the other witness, WHITE put the dog back in the suitcase.

Officers reported that when the dog was let out again, he/she was friendly and affectionate with them, but he/she was understandably trying to avoid WHITE.

Unlike the dog’s good-natured behavior, WHITE yelled at officers throughout the whole incident and according to records, she appeared heavily intoxicated.

WHITE was placed under arrest and upon being searched, officers found her to be in possession of suboxone. Although WHITE claimed it was prescribed, she could not provide any evidence to corroborate her claim. Additionally, officers found an open container of alcohol.

Court records show that WHITE was charged with neglect of animals, cruelty to animals, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness among other offenses.

At time of writing, records show that WHITE is being held into the Allegheny County Jail. Her preliminary hearing will take place in Magisterial District Court on January 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

I reached out to the Allegheny County Jail to request WHITE’s mugshot, but I was told they no longer provide booking photos.

The furvictim was dehydrated and had an open sore on a paw. He/she is now with animal control.
