Human intervention caused the death of baby seals

- Winterton-on-Sea, Norfolk, England -

On Sunday, December 15, Friends of Horsey Seals (FoHS) wrote in a Facebook post that due to “human intervention” two seal pups had lost their lives that day.

The pup in the picture was surrounded by a bunch of heartless and stupid people in the dunes and the mom could not go back to her baby who later died of starvation.

In the second incident there was a mom seal and her baby.

Two young children were allowed by their ignorant mother to chase the baby seal in the water and drowned because the white fur was not waterproof.

THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! Wrote FoHS.

The charity has renewed their appeal for those who visit North Norfolk beaches:

“At Winterton we especially ask the public to view the seals from the high dunes, as the beach area is absolutely covered with seals and young pups. As it is a vast area, the beach cannot be roped off and we rely on public support. We ask the visitors to give the seals consideration and follow the advice and directions given by any of the voluntary wardens on duty."

Wardens say if anyone is coming to see the seals, they should keep a minimum of 20 meters away since any slight disturbance will cause the mother to abandon her pup and he/she will eventually die of starvation.

Sadly, not everyone listens and not everyone reads the signs planted all over the area.

There are always morons who disregard rules and for the sake of a stupid selfie they are willing to sacrifice innocent lives.
