On February 10, 2026, as part of an ongoing dogfighting and animal cruelty investigation, “Operation Fight Club”, the Dallas Police Department, along with state and federal officials, served twenty-seven (27) warrants at properties in Dallas, Ellis, Kaufman and Smith Counties.
According to Dallas Police, the searches led to the discovery and rescue of two hundred and seven (207) dogs. Officials also recovered stolen guns and seized evidence of dogfighting.
Authorities said they found dogs tethered to heavy chains and in dilapidated, makeshift kennels.
The ASPCA and Operation Kindness were among the organizations that assisted Dallas Police with the rescue of the dogs.
The ASPCA said in a Facebook post that “Nearly 150 of the dogs were transported to an ASPCA recovery center to receive forensic veterinary and behavior exams and critical sheltering, medical care, and behavioral treatment and enrichment.”
Through a social media post Operation Kindness explained: “Our team played an integral role in the planning and coordinating of efforts prior to the rescue and provided veterinary and forensic support both on-scene during the investigation and at a centralized response location. These services are critical in helping ensure each animal receives thorough medical evaluations and that proper forensic documentation supports the ongoing investigation. This type of coordinated response reflects the strength of collaboration across agencies and animal welfare partners.”
Dallas Police have not announced how many people were charged in the sting and they said they are continuing to investigate the incident.
