I heard back from Animal Control and learned that the dog is about 10 months old and his name is Zeus. “He is doing fine, improving every day”, I was told in an email. Zeus was awarded custody to the Houston SPCA and “is being treated for injuries and malnourishment.”

~ Original story:

A Belgian Malinois is now thankfully safe after a video captured a savage striking him with a weight.

In the video, a male can be seen picking up a weight and throwing it at his dog. He then goes back over to the dog to repeatedly hit the furbaby who was in a “submissive position”, said the Houston SPCA in a press release.

The dog, unable to call for help, can be heard yelping and crying in pain.

The incident happened at a residence in the 400 block of Aurora Creek.

The Houston SPCA said that the rescue of the dog is the result of the “collaborative efforts” of the agency, the Waller County Sheriff’s Office, and Waller County Animal Control.

The Voiceless Victim was “severely malnourished”, said the Houston SPCA, but his well-being is now under the vigilant care of their veterinary staff and support teams.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and the case will be heard by a judge next week.

Although animal cruelty in Texas is a felony, the crime is punishable by a maximum of ONLY two years in prison and a fine of $10,000. The identity of the scum has not been released.

The Houston SPCA said that its Chief Cruelty Investigator, Jay Chase, stressed the importance of community involvement and said: “If you are able to safely obtain photos or video to report animal cruelty, it can be very useful against those who commit these crimes in public view.”

Remember, reporting animal cruelty may save lives!

Voice For Us believes that animals abusers should experience the EXACT same ordeal they put their victims through before being hung from a tree until their pathetic and useless life slowly ends!
