On August 17, 2022, officers with the San Angelo Police Department responded to Shannon Medical Center after receiving a report about a 3-month-old who had severe head trauma.

Officials obtained and executed a search warrant, at a home on 2918 J.F.K. Drive, occupied by 19-years-old JAYLIN MIJA DEANDA and 21-years-old ELI SARSOSA (both pictured), and three children.

Inside the home, which had every single room and closet infested with cockroaches, officers found a small male dog believed to be between 8 and 10 weeks old.

According to 28-years-old SAMUEL BENJAMIN JETER (also pictured), who was also at the residence, the puppy’s name is Dusty.

Officers reported that the puppy had ribs showing and did not seem to be fed.

Officers did not find any food, water, dog food, or bowls for the young furbaby.

Officers found very little dog feces on the floor and believe the puppy ate his own feces to feed himself. They further saw the puppy trying to eat off the floor a sticky substance.

Officers asked JETER if there was any dog food at the home and he said that the family fed the puppy scraps such as pizza or hot dogs.

While investigators found dog feces, they noticed that there wasn’t any urine on the floors.

They also reported that for the whole time they were at the home, the puppy had not tried to go to the bathroom.

Officers then took the furbaby outside and after giving him water and crackers, the puppy peed.

On September 6, 2022, officers arrested DEANDA and SARSOSA and booked them into the Tom Green County Jail. The duo were charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals for failure to provide food, water, and a safe place free of cockroach infestation.

Online arrest records show that they both bonded out of jail.

According to Everything Lubbock, JETER was at DEANDA and SARSOSA’s home because the aforementioned 3-month-old was in his care while the couple was out.

Reportedly, the baby started screaming and JETER became frustrated so, he held the infant by his/her torso and shook, swung, and threw him/her to stop the crying.

The baby then started showing signs of labored breathing and was not responsive.

When the couple returned home, they took their son/daughter to the Shannon Medical Center.

JETER has been arrested and charged with injury to a child.

On the late evening of Tuesday, August 30, 2022, a deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a stolen U-Haul truck in the 3000 block of College Park in The Woodlands.

According to a press release by the sheriff’s office, inside the truck, the deputy discovered multiple injured and malnourished dogs. One of them had a horrific injury with exposed flesh on most of his/her back consistent with a chemical burn. Tennessee News identified the burnt dog as Dolo (pictured).

The poor dogs were “in kennels filled with their own urine and feces with no food or water.”

The occupants of the truck were identified as 26-years-old TIARA JOSIANNA ALSAID and 57-years-old ANTHONY GLENN JOHNSON (both pictured), from Houston.

Following an investigation, the deputy learned that the Houston Police Department has multiple cases involving ALSAID “for running a business that claims to transport dogs cross-country, but instead sells them, never delivering the dogs to their correct destinations”, stated the release.

The sheriff’s office said that the dogs found in the truck “were stolen and worth many thousands of dollars.”

HPD Detectives, the Director of the Montgomery County Animal Shelter, and a Montgomery County Constable Precinct 2 Cruelty to Animals Investigator arrived on scene to assist in the investigation.

Thankfully, the dogs were seized until their guardians could be located, and eventually reunited.

ALSAID was placed under arrest for multiple offenses including animal cruelty and theft in addition to multiple drug warrants out of various counties.

JOHNSON was arrested for possession of marijuana but animal cruelty charges could be forthcoming.

On Thursday, September 1, 2022, the Groves Police Department announced the arrest of 42-years-old MICHELLE MARIE BRADFORD (pictured) following an investigation into the discovery of a deceased puppy.

Back in July 2022, police said in a press release that on July 13, 2022, officers assisted Groves Animal Control on a cruelty to animal call in the 3100 block of Taft, Groves, where a deceased puppy was discovered in a wire kennel on the side of the residence. “The kennel was located in direct sunlight with no shade, food, or water. The puppy was not breathing and rigor mortis had begun to set in”, stated the release.

Inside the kennel officers saw a small bowl that had no food or water and, on that date, the National Weather Service had issued a heat advisory with a heat index between 108 and 112 degrees.

Officers located the owner of the residence who denied having any knowledge that the puppy was at the home. “She claimed that the dog belonged to her daughter who lives in Port Arthur and had no knowledge it had been dropped off”, said police.

According to the release, a neighbor reported that her stepson took a video of the puppy at 2:42 p.m. and the puppy was still alive. The neighbor said she reported what she saw to the authorities.

Animal control eventually took possession of the deceased puppy and took him/her to veterinarian Dr. Blake Foskey for necropsy. Results showed the poor soul died of a heat stroke with subsequent disseminated intravascular coagulation.

Back in July police explained in the press release: “Unfortunately, we could not make an arrest at the time, due to the fact that the offense was a misdemeanor and did not occur in the police officer’s presence, so it has to be investigated. Our objective here is to establish who was actually responsible for this inhumane act of cruelty and neglect and hold them accountable. In this process, we’ll be interviewing suspects, witnesses and gathering any additional evidence to support our case. Once we complete our investigation, the case will be submitted to the Jefferson County DA’s office for review.”

After more than fifty days, police said that “Groves Detectives Investigation revealed that a resident of the home, Michelle Bradford, had knowledge of the dog being dropped off at the home.”

According to police, during an interview BRADFORD admitted to investigators that she forgot about the puppy being left outside.

Detectives have submitted the case to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office for review and the DA accepted the felony charge of cruelty to non-livestock animals, which is a 3rd degree felony.

A warrant was granted, and Judge Benjamin Collins Sr. issued a $25,000 bond.

Once the warrant was active, police located and arrested BRADFORD at a home in Port Arthur.

The despicable female was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility and later released after posting bond. According to 12NewsNow, BRADFORD “must wear an ankle monitor.”

12NewsNow reports that a candlelight memorial has been planned for the puppy and will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. across the street from the Groves Activity Center at 6150 39th Street.

BRADFORD, if animal cruelty was taken seriously, you would still be in jail awaiting trial.

Freedom is so precious that TRASH like you should not be entitled to it!

After your sentence, whatever it will be, you will resume your life and go on.

That innocent puppy is dead for ever and if it was up to me, you should be too!!!
