The animal cruelty story you are about to read happened in March 2022.

I have only learned about it recently as the animal abuser involved in the case has just been arrested on new felony charges.

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office announced that on April 5, 2023, 20-years-old COLTON SEAN FONTES (pictured), turned himself into the Calaveras County Jail on twenty-seven felony counts including Rape of a Person Incapable of Giving Consent, Rape Of A Person By Force, Sexual Intercourse With Person Under 18, and Possession And Transmission Of Child Pornography.

Many of these crimes were committed while FONTES was out on bail after being arrested for animal cruelty on March 11, 2022.

According to a press release by the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office and obtained by Voice For Us, on March 10, 2022, deputies became aware of a video that was circulating on social media which depicted a cat being inhumanely murdered. The gruesome video had been sent to the cat’s guardians who then contacted law enforcement.

The sheriff’s office said that the cat’s guardians had been searching for their furbaby, named Mr. Meow, for over a week and had posted flyers throughout his community.

As stated in the release, “Although no humans were shown in the video, information was provided to suggest that” FONTES “was responsible for the crime.”

Deputies contacted FONTES and when he was questioned about the incident, he initially denied being responsible for the murder of Mr. Meow.

Deputies, however, “noticed that a portion of Fontes’s residence was identical in appearance to an area shown in the video.” FONTES was not immediately arrested and deputies continued their investigation which led to the recovery of the weapon used to murder Mr. Meow. Deputies determined there was no legal justification for Mr. Meow’s killing and FONTES was taken into custody. He then “admitted to killing the cat.”

Fontes was transported to the Calaveras County Jail where he was booked on one felony count of animal cruelty. He was released hours later after posting a $65,000 bail.

On May 16, 2022, FONTES made his first court appearance before a judge at Calaveras County Superior Courthouse in San Andreas.

ABC10 was there and reported that a smiling FONTES left with no comment.

Braeden Hall and Allie Effisimo, Mr. Meow’s guardians, told ABC10: “This is actually our first time seeing him in person, so that was interesting. He did make a comment that seemed a little smug. He walked past and saidHey guys,’ like as if nothing was a big deal.”

Braeden also told ABC10: “I'm just glad that the criminal justice system is taking it seriously, and it's not just being swept under the rug.”

At the time, Becky Robinson, the founder of Alley Cat Allies, sent a statement to ABC10 which in part read: “This was an intentional act of cruelty that demands a vigorous prosecution and the maximum penalty from the courts. Cats suffer and feel pain. Violence toward cats and other animals [is] frequently just the starting point for additional criminal behavior. Well established research has identified the link between violence against cats and violence against humans.”

Allie and Braden have created a Public Group called Justice for Mr. Meow where they post pictures and videos of Mr. Meow and updates on the case.

I have emailed Calaveras County District Attorney Barbara Yook to inquire what stage the case is at. If I hear back, I will post an update.

~ Update: December 8, 2023

On October 24, 2023, Carter County District Court Judge Dennis Morris sentenced 27-years-old JAQUEZ KOREANTE LAW (pictured), for killing multiple kittens following other felony convictions.

Former District Attorney Craig Ladd who prosecuted the case, said that LAW “willfully and cruelly” killed the kittens by bashing in their tiny heads at a residence on 619 A. Street SW in Ardmore on March 8, 2023. The filthy murderer was charged with animal cruelty.

On October 13, 2023, LAW pled guilty to one felony count of animal cruelty.

Court documents obtained by Voice For Us state that Judge Morris sentenced LAW to a term of twelve (12) years, with credit for time served, in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

Additionally, LAW was sentenced to costs, VCA, and restitution for a total of $1,151.50.

Enjoy prison filthy murderer!

~ Original story:

Animal abusers are toxic! Toxic people do NOT change, they only change their victims!

The Ardmore Police Department said that on March 8, 2023, Ms. Tiffany Goodrich called the police after she found two of her kittens deceased on her porch.

Ardmore Police PIO Captain Henry told News 12: “Officers responded to the area, and documented the injuries which were pretty disturbing on the two kittens.”

According to Captain Henry, Tiffany was able to identify and give the name of the individual she thought was the suspect in this crime.

Later that day police were able to locate 27-years-old JAQUEZ KOREANTE LAW (pictured), and when they interviewed him, he denied his involvement in the murder of the two kittens. Police said this “new” case was more difficult because this time they did not have proof that LAW was in fact the one who murdered the kittens.

The case, however, had a turn because Tiffany filed a protective order against LAW and during the hearing, LAW admitted to killing the kittens.

As Captain Henry explained to News 12, “Mr. Law stated that he indeed killed the victim’s kittens and was apologetic about it and stated that he wanted to confess what he had done. And he did so that day in court.”

Tiffany said it wasn’t easy to hear the confession and told News 12: “I broke down crying.”

District Attorney Craig Ladd said that LAW “willfully and cruelly” killed Tiffany's two kittens by bashing in their tiny heads at a residence on 619 A. Street SW in Ardmore.

The filthy murderer is charged with animal cruelty and court records show that he’s due back in court on April 13, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.

If convicted, this society’s vomit could face a fine of up to $5,000 or imprisonment for up to five years, or both.

The reason why Captain Henry referred to this case as a “new case”, is because this is NOT the first time that JAQUEZ KOREANTE LAW is accused of killing cats.

In fact, on May 31, 2022, Ardmore police found two kittens, a white one and a black and white one, inside his backpack. One of them was sadly deceased and the other one was injured.

At the time police said LAW was trespassing on a resident property, so she called the police.

The resident, Ms. Dava Jump, who is also Tiffany’s neighbor, said for several months, she had seen LAW through her security cameras, trespassing on her property and chasing cats around her driveway and she feared LAW was injuring cats. Then, on the evening of May 31, 2022, she called the police. She told News 12: “I called 911 immediately and I gave them my name and address and said this person that has been stalking the property is here now, please hurry, please come. And they got here in a few minutes, and they were able to get him on the property.”

Responding officers found two kittens in the backpack that LAW was carrying.

Officers reported that the kittens didn’t have access to food or water, and were likely crushed by other things in the bag. The injured kitten was taken to a local vet.

LAW was ridiculously sentenced to ONLY ninety days in jail and five years of probation.

Dava suspects that LAW is also to blame for the disappearance of her cat Gray Baby. She confronted him after she saw him grabbing the furbaby.

As reported by News 12, court documents from LAW’s previous conviction state he’s been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

He’s also been charged with domestic abuse, and court documents for that case state LAW told the victim he had committed sexual acts on cats.

Whoever allows LAW, society’s vomit, to keep bonding out, is just as guilty and is contributing to animal cruelty!

On March 20, 2023, Randolph County Humane Officer Ron Gooden contacted Deputy Knotts and Cpl. Kyle with the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, about an animal cruelty complaint at a residence in Valley Head.

Officer Gooden advised them that when he and former animal control officer Jim Cain went to the residence, they noticed that the home had no electricity, all windows and doors were closed, and there was an overwhelming odor of urine.

According to a news release by the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, Gooden and Cain further noticed “numerous cats and kittenstoo many to count’ through the window on the porch.”

Officer Gooden said he saw cat food scattered throughout the floor which was mixed in with the urine and feces on the floor. While at the property, Officer Gooden also heard several dogs barking from inside the residence, and through a window, he saw a number of dogs “standing in feces that had been there so long it was white in color.”

Officers learned from the Randolph County Assessor's Office that the property is owned by 50-years-old DONNA MARIE THOMPSON (pictured) and her sister.

While officials were executing a search warrant, deputies could hear barking from a neighboring property. When they looked inside through a window, they realized that the property was in the same condition as the first one. It turned out that the second home is also owned by THOMPSON and her sister, so a search warrant was obtained for the second property.

The sheriff’s office said both residences were in “deplorable, unlivable condition.”

In both properties were foot-height feces and urine. “The conditions were so severe, hazmat suits and respirators were required to even enter the threshold of both houses,” stated the release.

In one of the two houses, officers found twenty-six cats and eight dogs.

Sadly, officers also discovered twelve deceased cats whose carcasses were in all stages of decomposition with some down to skeletons.

Most of the cats were found inside the sunporch. As stated in the release, “Inside this room, officers had discovered different sections where the cats had attempted to escape, but were rigged shut by bungie cords on the outside, and were blocked by big boxes.”

In the other residence, officers found two dogs locked in the sunporch area. “The door had multiple obstructions there were placed intentionally to keep the dogs from escaping,” said the sheriff’s office. The press release went on to say: “It appeared that the dogs were being thrown food through the back window of the residence. In one section of the house, a large pile of approximately ten deceased cats was located. They were all stacked on top of each other. In the back bedroom, a mother cat with several newly born kittens was found deceased on top of a shelf. Throughout this residence, multiple piles of deceased cats were found in various locations.”

In this property, officials found fourteen cats, three dogs, and sadly, a total of twenty-nine deceased cats.

The sheriff’s office explained that all of the live animals removed from both properties, were “extremely sick” and in “desperate need of medical attention.”

The Randolph County Humane Society assisted the Randolph County Sheriff's Office with this case and is now asking for donations in view of the major intake of furbabies.

The sheriff’s office said that THOMPSON was charged with ninety-two (92) counts of animal cruelty.
