On Saturday, October 1, 2022, the Omaha Fugitive Task Force arrested 24-years-old KENNETH VOGT (pictured) after he killed one cat and nearly killed another.

KETV reports that according to the arrest warrant, an investigation was launched on July 20, 2022, after it was reported that a cat had been found outside the front doors of a plumbing company off Wenninghoff Road in Omaha.

The caller reported that outside of Advantage Plumbing, was a lifeless cat who was described to be tied up and tortured.

An animal control investigator reported that the cat had “all four legs bound with a black nylon cloth,” that the small head of the furbaby appeared to have severe blunt force trauma, and “both eyeballs had ruptured from the sockets.” The cat was microchipped to VOGT.

On the same day, July 20, 2022, a second call came from Miller Park where a cat was discovered alive but was suffocating as he/she had a piece of black stretchy nylon wrapped around his/her tiny neck, and “both legs bound with a rope” reports KETV.

Steve Glandt, vice president of field operations for the Nebraska Humane Society, told KETV: “It was kind of wedged between a fence and rock wall. I don't know how easy it was to see, but fortunately some people did and tried to save it.”

The furbaby received medical care from NHS after being rescued and was later transferred to another facility for adoption. This cat was also registered and microchipped to VOGT.

Following a two month plus investigation an arrest warrant was finally issued for VOGT.

A search warrant executed at VOGT’s apartment led to the discovery of black nylon material, a rope which appeared to have been cut in his apartment, and many cat items.

Reportedly, VOGT told investigators that the black nylon material was pantyhose.

Mr. Glandt explained to KETV that “Investigators found the same or very similar materials that both cats had been bound with.”

According to KETV, the warrant states that VOGT initially told investigators the two cats escaped through his apartment door and a third cat was hit by a car earlier in the year.

VOGT, however, later admitted to tying ropes to the cats’ legs and stomachs because “I was training my cats to be samurai, it's like a workout, so that's what I did.”

VOGT told investigators the ropes were used for resistance and muscle building and that it was something he had seen in anime. VOGT did not admit to the killing.

During the investigation, detectives made contact with VOGT’s ex-girlfriend who said that in June she filed a protection order against him. The woman told authorities that although she and VOGT dated almost five years ago, he would still find ways to find her and harass her. According to the ex-girlfriend, this Summer VOGT sent her a message wanting to “take her eyeballs.”

Mr. Glandt rightfully said: “That's just not normal thinking or behavior to torture animals like that.” He also added: “Kind of makes your skin crawl that somebody like this is living in our community and walking among us.”

VOGT is in the Douglas County Jail on a $50,000 bond. His next court date was scheduled for November 4, 2022.

- Massachusetts, USA -

On the evening of Thursday, September 1, officers with the Mansfield Police Department responded to an address on North Main Street, Mansfield, for a report of a domestic disturbance.

Following a brief investigation, officers determined that 29-years-old KAYLAB DIEDERICHS “had committed the crime of Assault and Battery on an Intimate Partner in violation of Massachusetts General Law Chapter 265 §13M/B”, said police in a press release.

DIEDERICHS was taken into custody and transported to the police station for booking.

As the 41-year-old female victim was being assisted, officers learned that her cat “had been severely beaten and was suffering from what appeared to be substantial life-threatening injuries”, stated the release.

The obvious signs of trauma to the 6-year-old cat named Mama Mittens “necessitated immediate transportation to Tufts Veterinary Emergency Center in Walpole, MA by Animal Control Officer Collins,” said police.

Sadly, the furbaby was euthanized “as a result of two puncture wounds, lung trauma, a broken leg, and a skull fracture.”

DIEDERICHS was additionally charged with cruelty to an animal “(Did cruelly beat, mutilate or kill an animal) in violation of Massachusetts General Law Chapter 272 §77A”, said police.

On Friday, September 2, 2022, DIEDERICHS, of 265 North Main Street, was arraigned in Attleboro District Court on the aforementioned charges .

The Sun Chronicle reports that Attleboro District Court Judge Edmund Mathers ordered DIEDERICHS held without bail saying he found allegations against the defendant “sadistic and depraved.”

Following a pre-trial detention hearing, Judge Mathers deemed DIEDERICHS a dangerous person.

The Sun Chronicle further reports that DIEDERICHS pleaded innocent to domestic assault and battery and cruelty to animals.

According to the Sun Chronicle, DIEDERICHS’ girlfriend testified that when she came home on Thursday, she “found blood on the bathroom walls and sink” and when she could not find Mama Mittens, she feared for the worst because in the past DIEDERICHS had threatened to kill the furbaby.

After she confronted DIEDERICHS, he punched her twice but she was able to escape and call the police from a friend’s apartment.

The Sun Chronicle reports that after DIEDERICHS was placed under arrest, the girlfriend found Mama Mittens hiding and bleeding.

Police confiscated a utility knife and a bloody shirt. Reportedly, DIEDERICHS’ arms were covered in scratches from Mama Mittens.

According to Assistant District Attorney Alexandria Murphy, DIEDERICHS had no prior arrests in Massachusetts but had a criminal record in five other states.

As reported by the Sun Chronicle, “Under the state’s dangerousness law, Diederichs can be held without bail for up to 120 days while the prosecution prepares for trial. The case was continued to the end of the month for a pretrial conference.”

Yesterday, after reading the police’s press release, I found it disappointing that the end of the release read: “Due to the nature of this crime being of Domestic Violence, the exact address and name of the offender are being withheld at this time.”

First of all, I thought there were two victims and two crimes in this case. A cat is dead because she was stabbed and that’s animal cruelty.

KAYLAB DIEDERICHS is not just a vile individual who punches women, he is also an animal abuser and as such, he needs to be exposed. Law enforcement need to take a clear stand against animal cruelty and my opinion is that the Mansfield Police Department failed to do so by withholding KAYLAB DIEDERICHS’ identity and mugshot.

After searching court records, I found KAYLAB DIEDERICHS’ case and after Googling his name, I came across the article published by the Sun Chronicle so I was able to add additional information to the police’s press release.

- Florida, USA -

The Tampa Police Department has arrested 27-years-old ERIC LEE JARAY HARRIS JR., a Pasco Sheriff's Office deputy, on a charge of felony animal cruelty.

Police said that on August 21, 2022, HARRIS got into an argument with his then-girlfriend.

The couple had been together for six months and she had moved into his Tampa apartment a month prior.

According to police, HARRIS “was upset over his girlfriend's two cats defecating on the floor outside of their litter box and jumping onto the counters and furniture.”

The day after the argument, on August 22, 2022, the girlfriend returned to the apartment in the evening to find her both furbabies “hiding in their crate.”

The woman pulled one of the two cats from the crate, a 3-year-old male named Alex, whose toenails were “broken and bloody.”

As stated in a press release, Alex was “acting oddly and unable to stand using his rear legs” so the woman immediately took him to his regular vet in Sarasota.

After examining Alex, the vet recommended the furbaby be taken to an animal hospital for urgent care.

Sadly, Alex died the same day due to his injuries.

Given the severity of Alex’s injuries, the doctor thankfully did the right thing and alerted law enforcement.

HARRIS was questioned by detectives but being a true coward who only goes after living beings who cannot fight back, he did not own up and denied any wrongdoing. The coward even claimed, “the cat was fine during the time that he was alone in the apartment with him.”

On August 26, 2022, a necropsy was conducted by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), and results showed Alex “suffered severe hemorrhaging and bruising to internal organs, facial injuries, including a missing tooth, and markings were found on his body indicating that he had been stomped. His cause of death was ruled as blunt force trauma.”

Police arrested HARRIS on August 31, 2022, on felony animal cruelty.

According to FOX 13 Tampa Bay, “The Pasco Sheriff's Office has confirmed Harris' employment was terminated when he was arrested.”

It took me a long time to type this. Every time I read the necropsy’s results, I kept imagining Alex being tortured, crying in pain, and unable to dial 911.

HARRIS, say again that your life matters after you took an innocent and precious one!!!

Online records show the filthy murderer was released from the Hillsborough County Jail after posting bond!
