According to a press release by the Newark Police Department, on the afternoon of Saturday, April 29, 2023, officers responded to an apartment in the 100-block of Thorn Lane for a report of an injured dog.

From an investigation it emerged that the day before, the apartment resident, Ny'ashia Harris, left her friend, 25-years-old SYNIAH PERCELL (pictured), with her dog while she was out.

When Ms. Harris returned, she noticed that her dog, a 1-year-old 5-pound Yorkie puppy named Benji, was acting strangely, walking oddly and had a bruise on his stomach.

Benji was taken to a veterinarian where it was determined that he had “suffered from severe injuries.”

Home surveillance camera footage captured PERCELL throwing, beating, and choking Benji.

According to CBS, Ms. Harris said she left Benji with PERCELL, a longtime friend, when she went to work while PERCELL was staying with her for the week.

Police said PERCELL is from Marietta, Georgia.

I really trusted this girl. This was somebody I thought was family, we were so close,” Ms. Harris told CBS.

On April 29, an arrest warrant was issued by Justice of the Peace Court charging PERCELL with one count of felony Cruelty to Animals.

Benji remains hospitalized and is undergoing round-the-clock care for the injuries he sustained as a result of the abuse.

Ms. Harris said: “He is fighting for his life.” She set up an online fundraiser to get help towards Benji’s medical care. At the time of this writing, 461 donations raised $7,684.

Ms. Harris told CBS: “I want to make sure that everybody knows who she is, what she did, I want to hold her fully accountable.”

Let’s find her and let’s make sure she faces the legal consequences of her heinous crime.

Anyone with information about PERCELL’s whereabouts is asked to contact Cpl D. Faulk at (302) - 366 - 7100 x. 3492 or dfaulk@newark.de.us. Thank you!

The Manchester Police Department is reaching out to the public in hopes of getting information on the whereabouts of 42-years-old MEGHAN WILLIAMS and 59-years-old ROBERT GERHOLD (both pictured), wanted on fourteen animal cruelty charges.

In October 2022, police responded to a foreclosed house on 312 Seames Drive in Manchester, after receiving a report of abandoned animals. A neighbor told police that he had not seen the owner in at least two weeks and could see multiple cats through a window.

Officers learned that WILLIAMS and GERHOLD had moved out and left behind fourteen cats without any food or water.

Officers "could smell a strong odor of ammonia coming through an open window". Inside the property officers could see "furniture flipped over, torn up, and covered in feces." On the couch, police found many thin cats who did not look well and appeared to be missing fur.

In the corner officers sadly found a deceased cat.

Across several days, Manchester Police Animal Control found and removed ten cats who were suffering from serious health issues. Sadly, officers also discovered a total of four dead cats.

An investigation revealed that WILLIAMS was the home’s owner and that GERHOLD was also living with her at the time.

If you have any information on the couple’s whereabouts, please come forward and do the right thing. Please call the Manchester Police Department at (603) - 668 - 8711. Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can and call the Manchester Crimeline at (603) - 624 - 4040. Thank you!
