VILJAR EDUARDO ROSALES arrested for stabbing his girlfriend’s puppy who later died

- Iowa, USA -

Officers with the Animal Rescue League of Iowa assisted Des Moines Police in a horrific case of animal cruelty in which an innocent and defenseless puppy was stabbed and then died as a result of the injuries sustained.

On the afternoon of Sunday, September 12, police received a call from a woman reporting that her boyfriend, 31-years-old VILJAR EDUARDO ROSALES (pictured below) was stabbing her puppy.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2300 block of Amherst Avenue.

KCCI reports that police said in a news release: “Officers learned that prior to the call, the complainant had heard one of her pet dogs yelping loudly. When she investigated this, she witnessed her boyfriend stabbing the dog. The complainant ran and secured herself in a locked bedroom and called police. The boyfriend fled the home prior to police arriving.”

The furbaby, a 6-to-8-week-old mixed breed, was rushed to a local veterinary emergency hospital but sadly died due the injuries he/she sustained.

Like a true coward, ROSALES harmed a living being who could not fight back but then ran from the police.

The following day, officers spotted ROSALES in a vehicle in the 1500 block of Second Avenue and he ran again.

Officers deployed a K-9 Officer who chased MORALES and subdued him.

MORALES was placed under arrest and booked into the Polk County Jail on charges of animal abuse and interference with official acts.

He is being held in the Polk County Jail in lieu of a $2,000 cash bond.
