TYREL LINDER arrested for placing several puppies in a cooler and closing the lid killing all of them

The Grayville Police Department arrested 39-year-old TYREL LINDER (pictured).

LINDER is accused of murdering six innocent puppies by placing them in a cooler and closing the lid.

On the afternoon of Saturday, August 16, 2025, Grayville police responded to a home on Spring Street after receiving a report of individuals fighting.

Responding officers did not find any individuals fighting, but they were told by residents that LINDER, of Fifth Street, had been causing problems and that he had killed many puppies.

Officers located LINDER who admitted to placing the puppies in the cooler and closing the lid before going to sleep. He told officers when he woke up, the puppies were dead.

At his property, officers found the cooler containing the Innocent Souls and a freshly dug shallow grave with a shovel still nearby.

While he was being questioned, LINDER became agitated and headbutted the window of a squad car.

LINDER was arrested and transported to the White County Jail. According to police, LINDER tried to remove his handcuffs and attempted to bargain with the transporting officer for his release.

LINDER was charged with six felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, and Grayville police say more charges are possible, pending further investigation.

In addition to the deceased puppies, officers removed several other dogs from LINDER’s home.

LINDER had his first appearance in court on Monday, August 18, 2025. He will be held in the White County Jail until a preliminary hearing on September 8, 2025.
