TIMOTHY MARK REYNOLDS, sought for animal cruelty charges, arrested

- Georgia, USA -

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office announced that 53-years-old TIMOTHY MARK REYNOLDS (pictured below), who was wanted on twenty-eight counts of felony aggravated cruelty to animals, is now in custody.

Deputies say tips led them to REYNOLDS on the evening of Tuesday, September 14.

In a brief news release the sheriff’s office said that REYNOLDS “is accused of maliciously causing prolonged physical harm & negligent care to 28 dogs & puppies.”

The release stated: “Unfortunately by the time our department got involved all of the animals were infected with distemper and had to be humanely put down. 😢”

Investigators say REYNOLDS likely left the house long before they arrived for the eviction.

Deputies arrived at REYNOLDS’ home on 535 Acorn Road in Rome on September 2, and they said it would be an understatement to describe this house as “messy.”

In all, there were 28 dogs abandoned at the home, some skeletal, many dirty, reports FOX5 Atlanta.

Deputy Corey Bowers told FOX5 Atlanta that deputies “…found the house covered in urine and feces. They found two litters of puppies under trash on the yard. They described walking around and finding dogs that had neurological damage because of the way they were walking and mannerisms.”

He also added: “I can't think of a justifiable reason to have that many dogs. It didn’t appear that he was breeding dogs or caring for them as if he were his family. It seemed he collected a bunch of dogs let him in his house and didn't care for them at all.”

As reported by FOX5 Atlanta, deputies are familiar with REYNOLDS, in fact, the last picture of him below, is a mugshot from a previous charge of driving with a suspended license.

This time the charges are more serious.

They're all felonies, serious charges. And he’s got almost 30 of them”, said Deputy Bowers.
