Planning commissioner CHRIS PLATZER resigns after tossing his cat during an online meeting

- California, USA -

Former planning commissioner, CHRIS PLATZER (pictured below), was caught on camera throwing his cat during an online meeting in Vallejo.

Observing social distancing and stay-at-home rules during COVID-19, on Monday, April 20, the City Planning Commission met via a Zoom videoconference.

During the meeting, PLATZER’s cat could be heard meowing in the background and it’s beyond me why PLATZER did not close the door before the meeting if he did not want to be disturbed!

At some point a Commissioner asked PLATZER: “Do you have any comments you would like to make?

To which PLATZER responded: “Yes, if I am allowed to make them!

At that point, he picked up his cat with both his hands and threw the poor furbaby off-screen.

One commissioner put his hands on his forehead and closed his eyes laughing.

Another moron was just laughing thinking that was funny!

On Monday, April 27, PLATZER resigned from the commission.

Meanwhile, the Solano County Sheriff’s Office opened an animal welfare investigation.

Vallejo Mayor, Bob Sampayan, said: “I support a full investigation. The video of him throwing his cat is extremely difficult to view. His complete demeanor was unprofessional during a public meeting.

Shamus Thornton, president of the Humane Society of the North Bay, said they were contacted by several people asking them to step in and help the cat.

He said: “We were shocked and saddened by (his) actions. But we don’t have authority to remove the cat. We work with the county’s animal control service, which has the ability to enforce the law.”

Mr. Thornton also said that if the cat is removed from PLATZER, they will be happy to provide a home.
