Pennsylvania State Police investigate the murder of a female buffalo on a Crawford County farm

Pennsylvania State Police at Corry are investigating the death of a female buffalo (cow), at a farm on Mickle Hollow Road in Bloomfield Township in Crawford County.


In a news release police said that on June 15, 2022, at approximately 06:30 a.m. the buffalo’s guardian had gone to feed his buffalos and one of them had not shown up to be fed.


The farmer discovered the cow deceased in his pasture on Friday, July 15, and called the police.


PSP said that from an investigation it emerged that the cow was shot with a rifle and succumbed to her injuries.


GoErie reports that Trooper Zachariah Erdman, who investigated the incident, said the owners of the farm suspected that the cow was pregnant, but could not confirm it.
