On Tuesday May 25, Salisbury Police arrested 29-year-old LAKESHA SHERELLE COWAN (pictured below).
Police say following a domestic dispute, COWAN fired a 9-millimiter round at a man and the bullet hit a dog as well as the man’s left leg.
Salisbury Post reports that Lieutenant Justin Crews said to his knowledge, neither the dog nor the man were in critical condition.
Police served a warrant against COWAN and charged her with misdemeanor animal cruelty and felony assault with deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
COWAN was booked into the Rowan County Detention Center where bond was set at $10,910.00.
Online records show her next court date is May 28.
