The Butler County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old KATELIN CONKLIN (pictured).
On the early evening of Monday, May 12, 2025, deputies were alerted to a disturbing video circulating on social media showing CONKLIN abusing a dog.
The sheriff’s office said that in the video, CONKLIN could be seen choking a dog causing the furvictim to “make sounds consistent with labored breathing.” CONKLIN then proceeded to “forcefully” throw the dog to the ground.
The video additionally showed CONKLIN hitting her boyfriend with a closed fist.
Deputies responded to a home on 712 Buena Avenue in Lemon Township to investigate the incident and spoke with CONKLIN and her boyfriend.
After gathering sufficient evidence, deputies placed CONKLIN under arrest and charged her with cruelty to animals and domestic violence.
As for the furvictim, who is not injured, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office tells me that the dog “is a female Aussie, approximately 6 months old.” I was further told that the dog “is now with the boyfriend.”
Butler Count Sheriff Richard K. Jones said: “This type of behavior is unacceptable. We take both domestic violence and animal cruelty very seriously, and we will always pursue charges when the evidence supports it.”
