Since the lockdown due to COVID-19 has forced (or should have forced) humans to stay home, there have been several reports of animals enjoying freedom and spaces that they are entitled to enjoy.
And yet, some evil and arrogant humans just cannot stand the concept of sharing our planet with other breathing beings and they really go out of their way to kill and destroy nature and wildlife.
In India, birds and animals such as flamingoes and dolphins have re-appeared after years without sightings.
A video was recently uploaded online showing a bunch of vile men in Kolkata torturing a baby dolphin to death.
They can be seen stretching and pulling the young mammal while they hold him by the snout and tail.
The helpless animal flails around trying to get free.
Finally, after their fun was over, they released the injured dolphin back into the river.
Times of India reports that after environmentalist Biswajit Rowchowdhury saw the video, his organization has filed a complaint to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and the case is now under investigation.
Roychowdhury told Times of India: “We are assuming that the place is in between Kolkata and Burdwan and hoping that the culprits will be brought to book soon.”
He then added: “The mammals have very sensitive skin and the way it has been handled, as shown in the videos, it is likely to be dead despite being released into the water.”
