JASON MARK HERSHMAN, owner of Wanderlust Dogs in Delray Beach, arrested after a puppy suffered fractured jaw while in his care

- Florida, USA -

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 45-year-old JASON MARK HERSHMAN (pictured).

HERSHMAN is the owner of canine daycare facility Wanderlust Dogs in Delray Beach.

The sheriff's office said Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control (ACC) received multiple complaints from employees of Wanderlust Dogs reporting that HERSHMAN had a “history of physically striking dogs.” One of the episodes referred to an incident that took place on May 8, 2025, involving a miniature Poodle puppy named Cosmo.

An investigation by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Animal Crimes Unit into this particular incident revealed that Cosmo was perfectly healthy prior to being in the care of HERSHMAN, but when he was left alone with HERSHMAN, employees of Wanderlust Dogs heard a loud cry. According to the employees, they found Cosmo “bleeding from the mouth, shaking, and unable to stand normally,” stated the press release by the sheriff's office.

Cosmo was examined by a veterinarian and the findings revealed a fractured premolar and a right-sided mandibular fracture requiring multiple surgeries.

As stated in the press release, “Both the treating veterinarian and a veterinary dental surgeon specialist independently concluded Cosmos injuries were caused by significant blunt force trauma.”

Investigators concluded that Cosmo suffered severe and unnecessary pain as a result of HERSHMAN’s actions and probable cause was established to charge him with aggravate animal cruelty.

HERSHMAN was placed under arrest on the morning of December 17, 2025, and transported to the Palm Beach County Jail. At the time of writing, records show HERSHMAN was released after posting bond less than twelve hours after his arrest.
