JACOB KEITH SPRADLING arrested in connection with the death of a dog -

Carbondale Police say that on September 3, the Department became aware of an accusation of animal cruelty involving the death of a dog in the 1100 block of East Walnut in June 2021.


An investigation led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for animal cruelty for 22-years-old JACOB KEITH SPRADLING (pictured below) of Murphysboro.

On Wednesday, September 8, SPRADLING was located at a residence in Murphysboro.

He was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail from which he was released after posting a $50,000 bond.


Police have not revealed the specifics of the incident.


WPSDLocal6 reports that according to court records on judici.com, SPRADLING is charged with the class 3 felony of animal torture and the class 4 felony of aggravated cruelty to animals.


SPRADLING is slated to appear before Jackson County Judge Ralph Bloodworth on September 29.


The Carbondale Police Department was assisted in this investigation, which is ongoing, by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the Murphysboro Police Department, Murphysboro Animal Control and the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office.
