Updated: Jan 23

- New Hampshire, USA -

On January 16, 2024, the Hooksett Police Department received a call requesting a well-being check on dogs living at a home on Merrimack Street.

Officers Underwood and Estevez responded to the property which they reported to be in deplorable condition and covered in feces and urine throughout.

According to the police’s press release obtained by Voice For Us, officers found seven puppies, approximately 12 weeks old, in a crate that did not have any food or water. In another crate, officers found four older puppies also without food and water. Four adult dogs were found loose inside the residence.

Police said that all dogs and puppies were covered with feces and were exhibiting signs of various health issues.

The nonprofit Granite State Dog Recovery responded to the scene and assisted police removing all the Voiceless Victims who were taken to Pope Memorial SPCA where they are receiving care.

Officers found a juvenile inside the home and DCYF were also called in.

According to police, warrants were issued for 45-years-old JENNIFER LILES, 48-years-old BILLY TOWNE, and 24-years-old PATRICK LILES (all pictured).

On January 18, 2024, they turned themselves into the Hooksett Police Department and were released after posting cash bail.

Police said JENNIFER LILES and BILLY TOWNE are each facing fifteen counts of Animal Cruelty and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

PATRICK LILES is charged with fifteen counts of Animal Cruelty.

The trio are scheduled to appear at the 6th Circuit Court in Hooksett on February 29, 2024, at 8:15 a.m.

I asked the Hooksett Police Department whether any dogs were found deceased or had to be euthanized and I was told: “No deceased animals were found and to this date I have not heard of any needing to be euthanized.  As far as the names and age I don’t know each one I do know that they were a mix bread of Shepard, Lab and Pitbull but there could be others in there but that’s what I’ve heard.
