ERBY CHARLEMAGNE arrested for breaking the femur of a defenseless 8-week-old kitten

Following a joint investigation by the SPCA Westchester with Mount Vernon Police Officer Brianna Mecca, 50-years-old ERBY CHARLEMAGNE (pictured) was arrested for abusing an innocent kitten unable to dial for help.
On May 11, authorities received a call reporting that a kitten had been hit with a broomstick.
In a news release the SPCA Westchester said that an investigation into the incident revealed that CHARLEMAGNE, of 643 South 7th Avenue, Mount Vernon, had hit the tiny furbaby weighing 1.3 lbs. and then threw him/her into a wall.
The VOICELESS VICTIM was immediately rushed to a local veterinary hospital for medical attention. An examination revealed the furbaby’s femur was broken and that the kitten also suffered neurological deficits consistent with blunt force trauma.
Shannon Laukhuf, Executive Director of SPCA Westchester, said: “We will never understand how someone could be so cruel to an innocent animal. We hope this poor, defenseless kitten can recover from this vicious act.”
CHARLEMAGNE has been charged with animal cruelty and additional information regarding his arrest and bond/bail details have not been revealed.
Online court records show that CHARLEMAGNE is scheduled to appear in Mount Vernon City Court on June 06, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. before Judge William Edwards.
I have emailed the SPCA Westchester and Officer Brianna Mecca and requested further information about the kitten and the case but have not received a response.
