DAVID ALLEN JACKSON arrested after 38 dogs were found neglected and chained up on his property

- Kentucky, USA -

On April 14, a joint operation with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and Frankfort City Police Narcotics Unit led to the discovery of animal abuse and neglect at a residence on Adams Lane.

The operation was possible thanks to the information provided by LT Hamilton, who is the Cruelty Investigator for Lexington Fayette Animal Care and Control.

During the search warrant execution, officials discovered that 45-year-old DAVID ALLEN JACKSON (pictured below), had 38 Pitbull dogs.

Many of the dogs were found to have various untreated medical conditions.

Many had mange, many tested positive for heartworm, several were physically neglected and had dental issues; finally, 9 of the 38 dogs were pregnant.

The Sheriff’s Office wrote in their Facebook post: “The dogs were tied to stakes in the ground, trees, and other immovable objects with huge metal chains, one of which weighed approximately 42 pounds.”

Many of them did not have clean water or food and minimal shelter from the elements.

The Sheriff’s Office also wrote that the dogs had been there for quite some time.

Thankfully, the decision was made to remove all these innocent souls.

Franklin County Humane Society, Franklin County Animal Control, and Woodford County and Anderson County were also called in, and they all assisted in this major operation.

All the dogs are being treated by Dr. Casey Eckert-Kight for various medical conditions as well as overall neglect.

JACKSON was charged with 38 misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty but as the case develops, more charges are expected to be filed.
