CRAIG D’ALLESSANDRO caught on video punching and throwing to the ground one of his two dogs

- California, USA -

On July 9, 2026, Riverside County Animal Control Officers with assistance from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office removed two dogs from a property in Cabazon after a social media video showed one of the dogs being repeatedly hit and thrown by an individual.

KESQ News identified the individual as CRAIG D’ALLESSANDRO (pictured).

D’ALLESSANDRO was seen in the video punching a dog named Brody and throwing him to the ground.

Garrett Hottle, breaking news reporter with KESQ News, interviewed D’ALLESSANDRO who did not apologize for his actions and said he loves his dogs, Bruno and Brody.

D’ALLESSANDRO said: “That was the first and the only time I've ever put a hand on my dogs.”

When Mr. Hottle asked D’ALLESSANDRO why he hit Brody, D’ALLESSANDRO claimed that the day before, Brody slipped out of the yard and killed a neighbor's animal across the street.

According to D’ALLESSANDRO, he paid the neighbor for the loss and stated that what everyone saw in the video was simply him disciplining Brody. D’ALLESSANDRO added: “He knows he did wrong.”

Brody and Bruno are now being held under a mandatory 14-day impound period while the incident is being investigated. Riverside County Animal Control said that Brody and Bruno will not be available for adoption during the investigation.

At the time of writing, no arrest has been made and no charges have been filed.

During the interview with KESQ News, D’ALLESSANDRO told Mr. Hottle that he has received contact notices from Riverside County Animal Services and stated that he is refusing to respond to them. In fact, D’ALLESSANDRO looked directly at KESQ News’ camera and said: “Do you hear me? This is not me making contact with you Riverside County!
